Here are six players from the 4-1A classes that worked their way into the first update to the 2026 Rankings:
#17 – Jordan Jones Jordan Jones 6'0" | PG Colby | 2026 State KS , 6-foot guard, 2026, Colby (pictured):
This guy has flown too far under the radar for how good he is. He was impressive on the club scene prior to his freshman season, playing up with older players and handling it well. Then he played an important role for Colby’s trip to state a year ago. Then he showed even more last spring and summer, including really standing out at the Prep Hoops Expo in October. He combines fundamentals with surprising athleticism. He handles the ball confidently in traffic, gets open looks, crashes the glass and makes good decisions in transition. Colby is 8-3 and seeking another trip to state with Jones playing a huge role.
#32 – Aiden McCullough Aiden McCullough 6'3" | PF Ottawa | 2026 State KS , 6-foot-3 forward, 2026, Ottawa:
The Braves are heating up after a slow start, and McCullough is developing as a team leader. As a physically advanced freshman he focused on rebounding and defense as a freshman and took what the defense gave him, averaging 10 points in his first season. He continues to develop as a well-rounded and physical forward who can step out and knock down shots or post up and make plays in the lane. He’s gobbling up rebounds at an impressive rate as a sophomore.
#35 – Colton Collum Colton Collum 6'4" | C Baldwin | 2026 State KS , 6-foot-4 center, 2026, Baldwin:
The Bulldogs have got a really impressive group of sophomores to build around, and Collum has really asserted himself as an important big man. After playing effectively in a limited role as a freshman on a state team, he has stepped up with 9 points and 7 boards on this year’s ranked version of the team. He shoots a high percentage and makes smart plays at both ends.
#39 – Arley Morrell Arley Morrell 6'6" | C Pratt | 2026 State KS , 6-foot-6 center, 2026, Pratt:
Pratt got hot to start the season, and Morrell is a big reason why. He’s a big man who can move well and really play around the rim. He’s in the 20 point/10 rebound neighborhood as a sophomore, and is protecting the rim and making it tough on opposing posts and drivers. Pratt doesn’t get as much media attention as it probably deserves, and Morrell’s name should be one you’re hearing in discussions of top big men in the 4A class.
#40 – Kellen Green Kellen Green 6'0" | CG Oxford | 2026 State KS , 6-foot guard, 2026, Oxford:
Green got on the radar with a strong freshman contribution for a much improved Oxford team last year. They graduated a ton of talent, but have continued on the upward trend, in large part due to the maturation of Green. He fills the stat sheet and is a standout rebounder from the guard spot. Oxford has just two tough losses and hopes to make noise in 2A. Green will play a big part in the rest of this season.
#44 – Jace Hoffman Jace Hoffman 5'11" | PG Bishop Seabury | 2026 State KS , 5-foot-11 guard, 2026, Bishop Seabury:
Hoffman loves to play at a top-end pace. He can handle the ball and push the tempo, but with other stellar guards around him, he also knows how to fill the lane and hunt shots in the half court. He’s very quick and active and has a smooth stroke from deep. Seabury plays an unselfish, diverse style that allows all their starters to contribute. He’s averaging 15 points, many coming from long range.
