Host Salisbury came way with the championship with a victory over Glasgow. In the third-place game, South Shelby defeated NE Cairo. Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2024 standouts that caught our eye at Salisbury.
Cooper Francis Cooper Francis 6'4" | SG Salisbury | 2024 State MO (Salisbury): The 6’4″ 2024 do-it-all guard scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Panthers to the victory over Glasgow in the championship game. He spent the first part of the game getting his teammates involved in the offense. As he started to assert himself on offense, he was getting buckets from all three levels. The athletic lefty can score from anywhere, but he lets the game come to him and he makes his teammates better.
Jordan Fuemmeler Jordan Fuemmeler 6'0" | PG Glasgow | 2024 State MO (Glasgow): The 6’0″ 2024 guard scored a team-high 21 points in the championship game. He has a nice 3-point stroke with a quick release and deep range. He also gets into the mid-range area where he can elevate with the pull up jumper. I was also very impressed with his unselfish play as he delivered some nifty passes to open teammates when he could have shot the ball himself.
Mason Stapleton (Salisbury): The 6’4″ 2024 forward was a force in the paint with 16 points in the championship game. The beefy forward used his physical strength and good footwork to score around the basket. He could move people around in the post and finish with a nice touch inside. He has soft hands to catch the ball and also rebound in traffic.
Hayden Woolridge (Salisbury): A 6’6″ 2024 forward who plays a very nice finesse game around the basket. He has good touch in the paint, but he can really step out and knock down 12 to 15 footers off the catch. He is very effective shooting that mid-range shot from the baseline and from the high post.
Logan Luecke (NE Cairo): A 5’10” point guard who does a nice job of handling the offense with his passing and playmaking skills. The lefty sees the court very well and delivered some pinpoint passing, some from across the court as he zipped the ball over the defense to open shooters. He could also work the high post against a zone defense as he could find the gaps. He also hit a few open 3-pointers.
Dalton Taylor (NE Cairo): A 6’2″ shooting guard who plays a solid game at both ends of the court. He hit a 3-pointer early in the game and then started to attack the close out for a couple of nice takes and a good runner in the lane. He was also sniffing around looking for steals and he would take the ball from any unsuspecting ball handler in his area.
