It did not take long for Katoa to make his presence felt and last night he went nuts, especially in crunch time against Davis, who was playing some good ball. Katoa showed that his new form and shooting touch is going to hurt you. He hit a three where his defender was way too low and he waked into one. He also hit one with a second left that was wild but it found the bottom of the net. He was also showing that if you throw a lazy pass his atheletic ability and reach is different he can still fly. He had a two handed hammer in teh open floor. This kid is just getting it going, so Layton might be that team to beat.
It’s great seeing players find their groove, especially coming back after an injury and that is what we are seeing from Bendinger. He is not only a deep ball threat but he is getting that quick twitch off the bounce. Corner Canyon is not at full strength yet but getting Bendinger back to health is a big time piece on a deep run in state. Bendingers play should really increase his stock and his ability to do what he has been doing against lower level talent at his previous school now against the best in the state will really turn heads. Stay tuned he is still getting to an elite level.
Highlights
Tueller has been a big surprise these past two years but what he is doing as an overall player is even more impressive. He is not leading the team in scoring but his assist and rebound are up, he is using the entire floor and he is using his vision. He still has room to get stronger and faster and that bods well for him as he looks to play at the next level. He has shown that he can be a lead guard and score and he has shown that he could be a lead guard and distribute, When he puts this all together he is really a tough cover.
I think this kid is going to be a steal. He has size and athleticism and when he is aggressive he is a different player out there. His height makes him defend bigger right now but he is playing out of position. He will be a 3 at a small school and this kid could hit the ground running. Shoots the ball well but when he is crashing the boards hard and putting his head down and getting to the rim he could really make things happen. This kid is on the rise.

This kid has put up some crazy numbers and he can spray from all over the floor. 20,30,21,21,22. These are his latest numbers and he is a just a go getter. The motor he plays with is something that you just can’t teach. You need to come watch this kid hoop He has a few D1 JUCO’s looking at him but he has a lot of talent that translates to the next level.
