Our second game 7:00PM puts us at Alameda Gym for the league opener. Bishop O’Dowd wins on the road 63-62. Thursday January 4, San Ramon Valley took down Berkeley 62-47. Here’s our Unsigned Senior Standouts.
Mike Williams 5’9 PG, Deer Valley: He’s the speedy point guard with excellent ball handling skills. He pushed and passed up court, throughout the contest. It’s difficult to keep him out of the paint. Down the stretch he repeatedly went by defenders finishing with floaters.
Nicko Ignacio 5’10 CG, Fairfield: He’s fast, and shifty using his dribble. He used rip throughs, and spin moves aggressively going to the basket along the perimeter finishing with paint jumpers, and taking it to defenders. He can run point, has good foot speed to defend.
Shawndell Hines 6’3 W, Deer Valley: He has a good skill set, plays hard. The lefty can handle and create his shot opportunities off the dribble. He has good lift on the mid-range jumper he likes to go to, he can finish strong at the rim. He got a key rebound, and steal late.
Nick Gabriel-yingling 6’3 W, Alameda: At about 6’3, he’s a strong scrapper that works inside/out for this team. He hit the elbow jumper, later he hit a big corner 3. He’ll get transition baskets. He plays through contact inside, battles bigger players in the post. 15pts.
Leo Chapman Leo Chapman 6'2" | SG Bishop O'Dowd | 2024 State CA-N 6’3 W, Bishop O’Dowd: Fresh off his All-Tourney selection at Torrey Pines. Chapman has emerged as a rising prospect with his overall productivity. He’s knocking down 3’s (4) in this game. He’s a good defender, with the body, and strength to rebound, and handle physical play inside. 18pts.
Samuel Chavarin Samuel Chavarin 6'3" | SG Bishop O'Dowd | 2024 State CA-N 6’3 G/F, Bishop O’Dowd: He’s found a mix of outside/in basketball that works for him and the team. He’s strong, and effective working in the post area, powering up, cutting and finishing at the rim, he secures rebounds. He hit a 3 from the top. 14pts.
Ollie Miller Ollie Miller 5'11" | PG Berkeley | 2024 State CA-N 5’11 G, Berkeley: He went into take over mode the second half trying to keep the game close. He was aggressively putting up shots from 3, using screens, and dribbles to attack the paint. He’s a good shooter, finished with 17pts and 2 deep 3’s.
Samir O’Brien Samir O’Brien 6'3" | SG Berkeley | 2024 State CA-N 6’4 Wing, Berkeley: He got off to a good start, using quickness and improved handles with crossovers attacking the paint, hitting jumpers, and finishing off two. 11pts in the first half. He has long range to drop 3’s. He brings it, and handles often up top 15pts.
Jack Moxley 6’3 G/F, San Ramon Valley: Fits well as the Glue Guy on this team. His effectiveness on the defense, hard play, running down loose balls, playing the passing lanes getting steals. He’ll run hard to fill lanes for transition points. At 6’3 he’ll scrap for rebounds. 11pts.
Seamus Deely Seamus Deely 6'5" | SF San Ramon Valley | 2024 State CA-N 6’5 G/F, San Ramon Valley; Fresh off of winning the division and all tourney at Damien, Deely continues his productive rise this season. we noticed the aggresiveness he’s playing with around the rim along with his other skills, he’s a rising prospect in this 2024 class. 11pts, 5rebs, multiple assists.
