Teams have been battling down the stretch, trying to gain position at the top of their respective areas and take the city by storm. Let’s take a look at some key players who have made names for themselves in the past few weeks!
Nasir was his usual dominant self in Seven Lakes district home game against rival Katy. Price showed the ability to finish over the defender with several easy floaters/layups at the basket, as well as knocking down shots from midrange with ease. Nasir possesses exceptional lateral quickness on the defensive end, allowing him to notch several steals in route to easy transition buckets. He is a great leader on offense always knowing where his teammates are and makes it look easy whether he is playmaking or scoring the rock, even against the most physical of matchups. Price is already one of the highest rated prospects in Texas in the class of 2026 and continues to impress in key matchups, getting the Spartans some key wins this season.

Aedan was a huge scorer and contributor for Lake Creek in their home district win over A&M Consolidated. Lewis demonstrated patience and finesse driving to the basket and using a variety of moves to get the tough bucket when his team needed it. He was also a key defender and drew the hardest matchup on the other end of the floor guarding the 6’9 opposing post player, but Lewis looked right at home as he made it hard for him to get any open space in the post and locked up with several steals and some athletic blocks. Aedan can beat the defense by scoring from all three levels, showing range on some momentum changing threes and used the pick and roll with great efficiency to score the basketball. This was my first time getting to watch Lake Creek in action and Lewis proved his worth as a high sleeper unsigned prospect in the class of 2024.

Santos has stepped up huge this year from the Spartans as the starting post man, stifling opponents left and right and coming in clutch at the best times. Isaiah showed exceptional post work in Seven Lakes district home win over Katy, proving that he belongs in the conversation of best 2027 athletes in the city of Houston this year. Santos reached deep into his bag and pulled out several athletic post moves to score the rock at an efficient rate, sometimes even over double coverage. In some instances, Isaiah would grab the rebound and go coast to coast handling the ball through the press and score it with ease to give his team an easy 2 points. Santos was patient at the free throw line as well, knocking down his foul shots in the face of pressure. Isaiah will be a big time player to keep an eye on in the near future as his stock continues to rise.

DeBrion Broomfield
DeBrion Broomfield
DeBrion was the main playmaker/facilitator for his Westfield Mustangs squad in their blowout home win over MacArthur to remain undefeated in district. Broomfield always knew where his teammates were on the floor and was very timely with his passes, giving him several key assists to help stretch the lead out. He excelled as the ballhandler in the pick and roll option where he got several hard layups to fall over the defense, even finishing several and ones at the foul stripe. He got some of his assists off momentum building alley oops to big man teammate 2025 Jeremiah Cooper Jeremiah Cooper 6’8″ | PF Spring Westfield | 2025 State #206 Nation TX and this hyped up the home crowd as well as energized the whole team. Broomfield recently gained an offer from Southern Arkansas University Tech and this will hopefully help coaches take notice of this 2024 high IQ guard.
