Father Tolton vs. Battle (January 17th)
Last week we saw a quality game in Tolton vs. Hickman and this appears to be the next step up. Battle has a higher ranking and will give this reloaded Tolton squad a difficult game. They’re a top team in Class 6 and feature a host of quick guards. Tate McCubbin Tate McCubbin 6'7" | SF Battle | 2024 State MO , Aaron Rowe Aaron Rowe 6'2" | PG Father Tolton | 2025 State #17 Nation MO , and Zay Wilson all provide star power in this game. A heavyweight battle between the two Columbia powers this season.
Plattsburg vs. Lexington (January 17th)
A major small school matchup. Plattsburg (Class 2) will travel to Lexington (Class 3) for a game that features two highly ranked small school prospects in Isaia Howard Isaia Howard 6'5" | SG Plattsburg | 2024 State MO and Damario Moss Damario Moss 6'2" | PG Lexington | 2025 State MO . Each is capable of filling up the stat sheet and will make for a good on court matchup. Look for Howard to guard Moss and give him a tough look. The North Dakota State signee is an excellent defender who takes on challenges.
Jackson vs. Cape Central (January 19th)
This is always a much anticipated game in the southeast region of the state. Both programs have a lot of talent and the student sections are loud. Cape Central has come to near full strength and recovered from early season injuries. They’re looking dangerous ever since. As for Jackson it’s all about Blayne Harris Blayne Harris 6'4" | SG Jackson | 2024 State MO and Kole Deck Kole Deck 6'6" | SF Jackson | 2025 State MO . This wing tandem has worked well and has the Indians sitting at 10-6 on the season.
Lindbergh vs. Parkway Central (January 19th)
This is not a game that would’ve been circled before the season started but has become more intriguing up to this point. The main storyline will be Quinn Sunderland Quinn Sunderland 6'10" | PF Lindbergh | 2024 State MO vs. Oliver Kokal Oliver Kokal 6'6" | SF Parkway Central | 2024 State MO in the frontcourt. These two AAU teammates are headed to play at the next level and provide a ton of resistance. Kokal is a versatile wing who will play on the perimeter while Sunderland is a 6’10 rim protector. Lindbergh is holding strong as a top team in Class 6 while Parkway Central is having a solid year at 9-5.
Sparta vs. Kansas City Central (January 20th)
This is an excellent Class 3 vs. Class 4 game on a Saturday. These two teams have high hopes for the postseason and will test themselves against each other. Among the top players in the game will be Timothy Wooden, Jake Lafferty, and emerging wing Brandon Moore Brandon Moore 6'2" | CG Cristo Ray | 2024 State MO . Sparta has a more methodical approach whereas Central will look to use their athletes in the open floor. A game with contrast in terms of the coaches approach. Both of these teams have their eyes set on a Final Four appearance in Mizzou Arena.
