X Factors: Highland
George got off to a great start as he was playing with some energy and he was ducking insode and he does give a big target for his guards to find him. He finished a few buckets in traffic and on the move. Really looked good out in the perimeter with that outside jumper. If he can be more consistent with where he is looking fo rthe ball in his sweet spots his production will go up because he is a an X Factor on this team.
Lambson is a secret weapon that when he gets touches out in the perimeter. He has a sharp touch out beyond the arc. He can get going in a hurry.
Drisdom got off to a quick start as he was weaving his way through the defense. He had a few looks at the rim and got a fouled and he got to the foul line. Showed he has range and will hit if you go under. When the game is speed up he is at his best in the open floor attacking and making quality passes to his teammates. He is a big time X-Factor on this team.
X-Factors: Riverton
When you have two guards that handle the ball and limit there turnovers you are going to have success and that is what Kaden provides. He hit a few timely buckets from deep but he kept it simple, he did not try and do too much. He was getting in the lanes and kicking the ball he was moving without the ball and he was hitting those open looks. Kaden was a big time X-Factor.
Watching him in warm ups and seeing the way he has been moving made me think we could see a very much improved big fella nd we did. He was blocking shots and he was displacing defenders deep inthe post. He had a solid catch in traffic and finished above the rim. A lot of growth in this kids game for sure. On the defensive end he was blocking shots and just impacting the game with his size. Sleeper big that has potential.
Not very often that you see 2 D1 baseball guys on the floor at the same time but that is what we saw and Zach had some big time plays. Late in the second half he used his high IQ and mobility to get three offensive rebounds that really drained the clock and gave his team more opportunities to stretch that lead when Highland was trying to make a run. Impact ful minutes for sure from Edwards.
Last but not least Berrett found his stroke after missing a few open looks early in the 1st quarter and he really asserted himself as he used his handle and strength onthe ball to protect and attack. He pulled a few from deep and made things happen. He serves as a big time quality player especially in broken plays when you’re looking for someone to make things happen. Impressive performance from the heady PG.
