1. Richmond Heights (3-5)
Playing one of the toughest schedules of any team in the country so far this season, Richmond Heights has split in games against two of our top three ranked Division I teams. It’s been a struggle at City of Palms so far but no OHSAA program has the talent to keep up with IMG. Expect the Spartans to find their stride in the new year.
2. Russia (5-0)
Until they lose, I’ll keep Russia at the number two spot. They pushed Richmond Heights more than any other team has in the playoffs the past two years and returned a nice core from last season.
3. Warren JFK (6-1)
A loss to Lutheran West slowed down the momentum Warren JFK has built, but a win over defending Division I state champ Archbishop Hoban sees JFK rise from watchlist to third.
4. Troy Christian (4-0)
A win over conference foe Miami East puts them in the drivers seat to grab an outright conference title after sharing it last season.
5. Marion Local (1-0)
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, Marion Local had a late start their basketball season because they played in the football state championship game. Oh you have?
6. Maumee Valley Country Day (5-0)
A win over Toledo Christian is a big one in a conference race that will have plenty of twists and turns.
7. Berlin Hiland (4-1)
Only loss by four to Division I Dover? Hiland proving they will be a tough out in the east district once again.
8. Lima Central Catholic (4-0)
Moving up from the watchlist to the top 10, Lima Central Catholic has a lot of guard talent on its roster.
9. Convoy Crestview (6-1)
A double overtime win over Wayne Trace is one of the better early season wins in all of Division IV.
10. South Webster (6-0)
Staying unbeaten early in the season, South Webster is the favorite from the southeast district in Division IV at the moment.
