This includes a number of guys who are standout basketball players as well this season, a handful of whom we have ranked in the Class of 2024 rankings. Here’s a quick look at who’s making their commitment official this first day of signing.
Kallen Gutridge Kallen Gutridge 6'4" | SG Wilsonville | 2024 State OR (2024 Wilsonville) – Oregon State
The highest ranked hoops player from the Class of 2024 was actually undecided between basketball and football until very recently. But after a visit to Oregon State and receiving an offer to play quarterback for the Beavers, the athletic swingman decided the gridiron would be his future. He’ll continue to be a scoring force for the Wildcats on the hardwood this season as they chase their third straight 5A state title.
AJ Noland AJ Noland 6'0" | CG Tulalatin | 2024 State OR (2024 Tualatin) – Colorado State
Noland has been a football first guy all along but since coming into high school has been an integral part of the basketball team, emerging as a key contributor last year. This season the 6-foot-2 guard has become the team’s second-leading scorer, providing a perimeter shooting threat while also utilizing his athleticism to be a devastating finisher on the break.
Jayden Fortier Jayden Fortier 6'3" | SF Tualatin | 2024 State OR (2024 Tualatin) – Arizona State
Fortier is most likely out for basketball season due to a knee injury suffered in the 6A football state title game but is on this season’s roster so he makes the list. There’s no question Tualatin wouldn’t be two-time 6A champions without the contributions of the 6-foot-5 forward as he came up huge with his rebounding and defense in the state championship game last season. The state’s top player on the gridiron, he’ll be a tight end at ASU.
Paul Hobson Paul Hobson 6'3" | SG Baker | 2024 State OR (2024 Baker) – Eastern Oregon
The NAIA doesn’t follow the same calendar as the NCAA but Hobson has been committed to playing quarterback at Eastern Oregon since the summer so we’ll include him on this list. On the basketball floor, he’s a sharpshooter from the outside and has been one of the top scorers the past few years for Baker which is considered by some as the favorite to bring home the 4A title this season.
Charlie Crowell (2024 Summit) – Arizona
Crowell has been another football-first guy since day one at Summit but has come along as a solid contributor on the hardwood as well. The 6-foot-5 tight end recruit has been a stalwart in the post for the Storm, focusing in on things such as rebounding, defense, and setting hard screens. His presence inside has been of great help to Summit’s explosive scorers such as Pearson Carmichael Pearson Carmichael 6'6" | SF Summit | 2024 State #270 Nation OR and Collin Moore Collin Moore 6'2" | CG Summit | 2024 State OR .
