Here are the top available 2024 prospects in the Cape-Atlantic League.
Bubba McNeil Bubba McNeil 5'10" | PG Middle Township | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 PG Middle Township
McNeil has the ability to put up points in bunches as he can score once he crosses halfcourt. The 5’10 lefty has a quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. McNeil is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish around the basket. He is an underrated passer and plays tough on-ball defense. McNeil is a gritty, guard prospect who should close out his high school career with over 1,000 points.
Anthony Trombetta Anthony Trombetta 5'10" | SG Middle Township | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 SG Middle Township
Trombetta has eclipsed double-digits in each of his last three games, including 22 in his last game against Archbishop Carroll. The 5’10 guard has a clean shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. Trombetta moves well without the ball, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He slides his feet on defense and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. Trombetta’s ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
Khalon Foster Khalon Foster 6'1" | CG Millville | 2024 State NJ , 6’1 CG Millville
Foster has been a steady presence for the Thunderbolts this season as he has scored at least 10 points in every game this season. The 6’1 guard has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish at the rim. Foster can also score in the mid-range and shoots the ball with confidence. He finds open teammates in the halfcourt and gets deflections on defense. Foster is a tough guard prospect whose ability to finish around the rim will help his game throughout the winter.
Azzir Smith-Bey Azzir Smith-Bey 6'4" | SG Hammonton | 2024 State NJ , 6’4 SG Hammonton
Smith-Bey has started off the season hot as he has two 20-point games already this season. The 6’4 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Smith-Bey uses his size to see over his defender and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is a solid rebounder. Smith-Bey has the ability to have a breakout senior season if he can maintain his level of play from the start of the season.
Macky Bonner Macky Bonner PG Lower Cape May | 2024 State NJ , PG Lower Cape May
Bonner has shouldered the scoring load so far this season as he is averaging north of 18 points per game in the early going. He plays with poise on the ball as he rarely get rattled by on-ball pressure and threads passes to teammates in the halfcourt. Bonner pushes the pace well in transition and can draw contact in the paint. He has the ability to play off the ball as well and is an underrated defender. Bonner’s ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his development this season.
