<p>The high school basketball season is off to a strong start in the state of Arkansas. We are going to highlight some prospects that are off to impressive starts to the season. Here are some players that are opening some eyes early in the basketball season.</p>

<p>On Friday, Maumelle played host to the Da Matchup Showcase. [player_tooltip player_id='2021821' first='Courtland' last='Muldrew'] was clicking on all cylinders for the Har-Ber Wildcats on Friday night. Muldrew did a great job of hitting from everywhere on the court this week. He drove the lane and hit the shot from the outside. The Har-Ber point guard had 36 points and 5 assists on the night against the Maumelle Hornets. Over the next season or two, Muldrew is a point guard to watch out for on the court.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2397908' first='Daylon' last='Thomas']-Small Forward-Maumelle-6'3” 2027</strong></p>

<p>The Maumelle forward did an impressive job of filling up the stat sheet this week for the Hornets. [player_tooltip player_id='2397908' first='Daylon' last='Thomas'] was active on both ends of the court on Friday night. He had 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal against Springdale Har-Ber. Thomas is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons. He has the ability to light it up on both ends and he has a motor that does not appear to slow down one bit.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2494126' first='Cedric' last='Jones'] has opened the 2023 basketball season in impressive fashion. Jones opened plenty of eyes in the Da Matchup Showcase in Maumelle this weekend. Jones shot the ball well and did a great job of finding the open shooter. Jones accounted for 26 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and 4 steals on the night. Folks should not be surprised to see Jones have a big 2023 season for the Wampus Cats.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2276583' first='Luke' last='Shure']-Small Forward-Union Christian-6'7” 2024</strong></p>

<p>The Union Christian forward is off to an excellent start to the season. Shure is a player with impressive range. He can hit from anywhere on the court and tends to heat up quickly. Against Elkins this week, Shure racked up 25 points and 17 rebounds on the night. He does a great job of battling for boards and doing the dirty work on both ends of the floor. Shure has the potential to have a big season for Union Christian this season.</p>
