The Jaguars have undergone some very big roster changes, losing key seniors from last year’s playoff run. Nevertheless, this new Atrisco team is a constant offensive barrage from the perimeter, with some of the best guard depth in the state. The team is led by two hyper-athletic guards, Latavious Morris Latavious Morris 5'8" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2025 State NM and Marquise Renfro Marquise Renfro 6'0" | SG Atrisco Heritage | 2024 State NM , who have established themselves as perhaps the most well-rounded backcourt in New Mexico. Morris has been able to show his massive skillset at both guard positions, scoring at will from anywhere on the court. His ability to draw fouls and finish at the rim opens up his game in many facets, creating not only for himself but for others. Renfro is a two-way star whose influence on the game stretches far beyond the stat sheet, able to keep constant pressure on teams on both sides of the ball. Atrisco has found success in other areas of their backcourt as well, with Brandon Lopez Brandon Lopez 5'11" | SG Atrisco Heritage | 2024 State NM stepping up last season, filling in for injured starters, and providing some much-needed sharpshooting for this team. The Jaguars’ backup guards have also been able to find success in their rotational roles. Mathias Sanchez and Kadarious Sims Kadarious Sims 6'1" | SG Atrisco Heritage | 2025 State NM have only gotten better the more they’ve played valuable varsity minutes and will find themselves with every opportunity to earn a starting position next season. The big question with this team will be who will step up to fill the frontcourt void, but nevertheless, Atrisco will find themselves at the pinnacle of New Mexico teams this season and will be in a prime position to make a deep run in the playoffs.
