First Team
2024 Cam Buffington Cam Buffington 6'2" | PF Winfield-Mt. Union | 2024 State IA (Winfield-Mt. Union): 19.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, 58.5 FG%
Buffington is a really difficult matchup in this league because of his combination of size, physicality, and eye-popping athleticism. He dominates the glass on both ends of the floor, finishes at a high clip around the rim, and can protect the paint on the defensive end.
2024 Ty Northup Ty Northup 6'2" | SF Louisa-Muscatine | 2024 State IA (Louisa-Muscatine): 21.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.0 steals, 55.1 FG%, 39.8 3P%, 77.2 FT%
Arguably the best offensive player in the division, Northup had a great junior year for the Falcons, showing the ability to score inside and out, create for himself and his teammates, and rebound well on both ends of the floor. He’s a tough, physical forward who can stretch the floor, and he has great footwork and touch on the block.
2024 Jackson Lanz Jackson Lanz 6'5" | C Wapello | 2024 State IA (Wapello): 17.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.0 blocks, 46.2 FG%
Lanz is coming off a great junior year for the Indians, averaging nearly 18 points and showing the ability to protect the rim and control the glass on both ends of the floor. He’s a mobile 6-6 big man who is the focal point of the gameplan on both ends.
2024 Hunter Hughes Hunter Hughes 6'3" | PG WACO | 2024 State IA (WACO): 15.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.3 steals, 52.4 FG%, 42.2 3P%
A versatile weapon on both ends of the floor, Hughes is a knockdown shooter both off the dribble and the catch, a skilled playmaker with the ball in his hands, and a menace on the defensive end. He’ll be the best player on a WACO team that will battle it out with WMU at the top of the division.
2024 Abram Edwards Abram Edwards 6'5" | PF Winfield-Mt. Union | 2024 State IA (Winfield-Mt. Union): 11.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.8 blocks, 53.6 FG%
A lanky 6-6/6-7 forward who will play college football at Army, Edwards can impact the game on both ends of the floor with his combination of size, length, athleticism, and IQ. He protects the rim well, rebounds on both ends, and is a talented passer who sees the floor at a high level.
