There were 45 new players and here are some of the stock risers.
Here are 14 stock risers since May:
Michael Payne Michael Payne 5'9" | PG Cholla | 2025 State AZ Cholla +87 (Pictured)
The undersized scoring lead guard has recently put on a show in the last few events. He scores it with the best of them from all levels and has next level speed and skill. His three point shooting, pinpoint passing and open speed makes him a coveted player.
Cole Denny Cole Denny 6'6" | PF Catalina Foothills | 2025 State AZ Catalina Foothills +84
A thicker framed power forward works inside and out. He has polished up his skill and shaped his frame and has grown a little. He can easily step out and shoot it from deep then work inside with a nice touch and board with anyone in the paint.
Davion Harris Davion Harris 6'1" | CG Hamilton | 2025 State AZ Hamilton +66
The nephew of Coach Harris has grown a little but looks more crisp with his passing and skill. He is starting to figure it out overnight and looks to lead the Huskies with his scoring, up the court passing and leadership.
Cristian Acevedo Cristian Acevedo 6'7" | PF Apollo | 2025 State AZ Apollo +53
Patiently waiting his turn after a talented 2023 guard group graduated, Christian should be the man they lean on. He has versatility where he can handle it well for position, create his own offense, shoot the three and score inside.
John Simcoe John Simcoe 6'5" | PF Sandra Day O'Connor | 2025 State AZ Sandra Day O’Connor +53
A face-up stronger power forward has the skill and frame. He is a little undersized but has a motor to rebound and he comes with shooting. He can hit the three with confidence and keeps plays alive.
Andrew Maier Andrew Maier 6'3" | PF Hamilton | 2025 State AZ Hamilton +49
An undersized four-man is extremely athletic. He has a plus motor and a big desire to compete and rebound in and out of his area. He scores it on dunks, with post footwork and put backs.
Jarrell Houston Jarrell Houston 5'10" | PG Liberty | 2025 State AZ Liberty +40
The pure point guard is undersized but fast and has a very quick handle. It is his turn to lead the 6A school to the playoffs. He can burst by his defenders and shoot the three with some range.
Quincy Kirk Quincy Kirk 6'2" | PG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View +39
The scoring lead guard has waited his time with the one year off of the transfer rule. He is an immediate impact player in 5A and he scores it from all levels. He has a nasty pull-up and gets into the lane plus can shoot the three.
Kai Hogan Kai Hogan 6'4" | SF Brophy Prep | 2025 State AZ Brophy Prep +34
A highly skilled wing forward has a big IQ and he can shoot. He has a pure stroke from mid to the three point line with a quicker trigger. He can also make plays for his teammates and creates a little offense for himself.
Dewayne Haygood Dewayne Haygood 6'5" | PF Casa Grande | 2025 State AZ Casa Grande +31
I recently saw Haygood at a Prep Hoops tournament and he played well. He is getting stronger, he grew an inch or two and his skill is improving. He can comfortably shoot the mid-range jumper, which seems to be his sweet spot, and works inside with his long arms to rebound and score on put backs.
Owen Hillis Owen Hillis 6'6" | PF Sunnyslope | 2025 State AZ Sunnyslope +22
A power forward who has grown at least an inch in the last year. He comes off the bench of the talented and deep team and gives them defense and rebounding. He moves his feet well and will challenge oncoming players to block their shots. He scores it in the paint thru contact.
Jhordan Bowls Jhordan Bowls 6'1" | PG Westview | 2025 State AZ Westview +21
A recent player I viewed at the TOP 250 EXPO has improved. He has good size, speed and skill. He has next level court vision, he can hit the three and turn the corner on his defender and get to the basket.
Gavin Dabney Gavin Dabney 6'5" | SG Higley | 2025 State AZ Higley +20
A thicker framed bigger combo guard is on D1 coaches radars. He earned his first D1 offer at an elite camp for Incarnate Word and just seems to always be in the correct spot. He shoots the three, handles the ball well, rebounds unusually well for a guard and plays winning basketball.
Ryan Leggitt Ryan Leggitt 6'2" | SG Desert Ridge | 2025 State AZ Desert Ridge +20
A sharp shooting scoring guard has played well in the last camp showings. He has ultimate confidence and no conscience to let it fly from all spots on the court. He squares up quickly and shoots the three with range. If you leave him open with space and time, he will knock it down.
