Below is the fifteenth installment in our Transfer Watch 2023 series.
Dywane Chess Dywane Chess 5'11" | SG Liberty-transferred | 2025 PA , Jr. – 6’3” / 2026 / St. George’s School (RI) / Team Final Red / Wing: Chess is a long, bouncy, and versatile athlete who thrives in the open court. In 2022-23 he averaged 14.8 points per contest for a Liberty HS squad that went to the District 11-6A title game. He scored 20+ points on five separate occasions. In addition to finishing on the fast break, Chess can score in the mid-range and via working the offensive glass. Plus, he will drain the occasional three ball. Chess will also reclass into the 2026 graduate year at St. George’s.
Hayden Johns Hayden Johns 6'6" | SF Perkiomen School | 2024 PA – 6’6” / 2024 / Perkiomen School / U-Play Canada / Small Forward: This long and athletic shooting guard from Canada is a major “get” for Perkiomen School. With his length, speed and hops Johns is also an outstanding transition player. In the half-court, Johns, can slash to the basket for a catch and lay-in. Johns drained threes at a 46% clip last year for Kitchener Impact (Canada).
Hunter Johnson Hunter Johnson 6'2" | CG Cardinal O'Hara | 2024 PA – 6’2” / 2024 / Roman Catholic / Philly Pride Delco / Small Forward: The former Cardinal O’Hara standout (11 ppg. and 5 rpg. in 2021-22) spent his junior season at Orlando Christian Prep (FL). For the 2023-24 school year, Johnson is returning to the PCL and will suit up for Roman Catholic. During August Johnson played outstanding basketball at the Check Rock League. Included in that impressive stretch of play was a 24 points and 13 boards double-double. Johnson has really improved his offensive game and is now a 3-level scoring threat.
Ty Mishock Ty Mishock 5'10" | PG Spring Ford | 2024 PA – 6’1” / 2024 / Avon Old Farms (CT) / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: A couple weeks ago Mishock announced he was departing PCL contender Devon Prep for Spring Ford HS. That plan has changed as the former three-year starter at DP is now enrolled at Avon Old Farms. In 2022-23 Mishock averaged 13.5 points and 4 assists per game while shooting 39% from behind the arc This smooth combo-guard shoots it well from multiple spots on the floor, can score off the bounce and run as a primary ball handler. Mishock recently received an offer from Lehigh.
Nasir Washington – 6’3″ / Post Grad / Rocktop Academy / Philly Pride UAA / Shooting Guard: Over the last four years, Washington has been one of the most prolific scoring guards in southeastern Pennsylvania. The former Penn Wood star averaged 20 ppg. during his senior campaign and was a 3rd Team 6A All-State selection. During the July circuit as well as summer league action, Washington displayed an even more aggressive mindset and was virtually unstoppable. He holds an offer from Fairfield.
