Solid arguments could be made for any of the players on the first team to be named the PPOY, but we’ll side with Snyder, who nearly averaged a double-double last season for the Falcons, a team that we expect to be making a jump this season.
First Team
2024 Rayce Snyder Rayce Snyder 6'6" | PF Wayne | 2024 State IA (Wayne): 19.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.5 blocks
Snyder was dominant on both ends of the floor last year for the Falcons, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks. He’s a skilled 6-5 forward who pounds the glass hard on both ends of the floor.
2024 Dawson Nelson Dawson Nelson 5'11" | PG Nodaway Valley | 2024 State IA (Nodaway Valley): 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.7 assists, 47.8 FG%, 77.8 FT%
A tough 6-0 guard who can create looks for himself and his teammates at a high level, Nelson is a three-level scorer who can do a little bit of everything for the Wolverines. He’s the only returnee among the top eight scorers from last season’s Nodaway Valley team, so he’ll have a chance to put up some ridiculous numbers as a senior.
2025 Gabe Funk Gabe Funk 6'1" | SG Lenox | 2025 State IA (Lenox): 18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.6 steals, 51.4 FG%, 39.7 3P%
Funk may put up the best numbers of any player in the league this year after his 18-9-5 last season. A 6-1 guard who shoots it really well both off the dribble and the catch, he’s a dynamic all-around offensive weapon who will keep Lenox competitive in this league.
2024 Seth Hudson (East Union): 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals
Hudson is primarily a scorer, but he does that really well for the Eagles, leading the team in scoring and showing the ability to do so from all three levels. With everyone returning, East Union could be a team that makes a leap up the league standings this season, and Hudson will be the leader.
2025 Cam Seuferer (Southeast Warren): 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals, 38.0 3P%
Seuferer led the Warhawks in scoring last season as a sophomore and should be even better as a junior. He’s a good perimeter shooter who will contribute on the glass well on both ends of the floor.
Second Team
2026 Cael Hogan Cael Hogan 5'8" | PG Southwest Valley | 2026 State IA (Southwest Valley)
2024 Rason Grail (East Union)
