Throughout the next couple of days, Andrew Johnson and myself will recap of who stood out from the event and providing analysis on every prospect who attended the camp. This article features the top players who stood out for Team 5:
Mark Christian
Mark Christian
Mark Christian, A 6-7 junior power forward used every ounce of his body to an advantage at the Top 250 Expo where he was finishing above the rim as well as playing great defense on the interior. Christian displayed great footwork and has grown more fundamentally where he can guard out on the perimeter as well. On the offensive end, Christian has expanded his game into becoming a reliable shooter from 15 feet and in. Christian will be a key player to watch for Rockledge this upcoming season as he continues to improve his game.
Julian DeClou Julian DeClou 6'4" | SF Hagerty | 2026 FL
Julian DeClou Julian DeClou 6'4" | SF Hagerty | 2026 FL
Julian DeClou Julian DeClou 6’4″ | SF Hagerty | 2026 FL , A 6-4 sophomore guard has become adaptable to being able to play out on the wing as he played with a ton of length and athleticism. DeClou showcased his talent where he can score on all three levels on the offensive end as well as play very good on-the-ball defense. DeClou will be a name to keep an eye on as he continues to thrive as a go-to threat for offensive sets.
Kymani Dixon Kymani Dixon 5’11” | PG Lake Nona | 2026 FL , A 6-0 sophomore guard plays tough on both ends of the floor where he can be extremely dangerous when finishing on the attack. Dixon played with a great edge and played with an unselfish knack as he was getting his teammates involved throughout the day. His defensive presence was what stood out to me as he applied on-the-ball pressure as well as being active reading passes and being a disruptor in the lanes.
Brandon Haughton
Brandon Haughton
Brandon “BJ” Haughton was one of the best point guards I saw at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo. He was explosive in the open court on the offensive end where he made things easy for his teammates on the offensive end. Haughton is also an emerging prospect on the defensive end where he showed great activity in the half-court jumping passes as well as getting steals which lead to baskets on the other end. He also brought smooth handles and can finish above the rim on the offensive end. Don’t be surprised if we are talking about this prospect’s growth the next three years.
Gavin Paterson
Gavin Paterson
Gavin Paterson, A 6-1 sophomore combo guard has a gift to score on all three levels and is super athletic on the offensive end of the floor. He is considered to be an above-average rebounder for his size where he has strong hands and is quick to get the basketball in transition. Paterson showed his high IQ and plays under control where he doesn’t force a ton of bad mistakes on the offensive end as well. His defensive skills are continuing to improve as he gets steals and strips without fouling which stood out to me at the Prep Hoops Top 250. Look for Paterson to have a good sophomore season as he brings huge upside to the table.
