Here are some of the standout guards from the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo that took place on Saturday, September 23 at the Seminole Sports Academy in Longwood.
Axel Acevedo
Axel Acevedo
Axel Acevedo, A 6-5 junior small forward made his presence felt around the rim whether it was scoring off put-backs or in position to get the rebound. Acevedo showed his good footwork in the mid-range and can get to the front of the rim using his strength and finish efficiently on both sides of the rim. His presence to score off the catch has continued to improve as well as he looks to become a viable scoring threat this upcoming season. On the defensive side, he showed a ton of activity where he can guard multiple positions and adds solid rim protection.
Diamant Blazi Diamant Blazi 6’8″ | PF Jordan Christian | 2024 State FL , A 6-8 senior forward was the MVP at the Prep Hoops Top 250 where he was making highlight plays throughout the day. Blazi showed us his smooth handles and ability to finish around the rim through traffic. His effectiveness on the defensive side also stood out as he was deflecting passes as well as blocking shots off the backboard limiting the opposition from getting second chances. Blazi could become an elite D-1 prospect once he starts building an outside shot and plays more confident outside the paint.

Mark Christian
Mark Christian, A 6-7 junior power forward continues to add fluidity in the post where his footwork continues to stand out. On the offensive end, Christian’s ability to get to the front of the rim and finish effectively gave his team a burst of confidence throughout the day. His rebounding mechanics have also come a long way as he gained muscle during the summer where he showed his strength when he has the basketball in his hands. Christian has also continued to improve his free throw shooting so don’t be surprised if he plays more aggressive and get to the foul line a lot this season.
Babacar Diop
Babacar Diop
Babacar Diop, A 6-6 senior forward showed a ton of length and productivity on the wing position where he can score at the front of the rim as well as off the catch. Diop was also an elite rebounder on both ends of the floor where he shows a ton of upside. On the offensive end, he also showed his unselfishness as he is an above-average passer who continues to see the floor exceptionally well. Huge hopes for Diop this upcoming season as he has become one of the top prospects to watch in Polk County.
Sean James Sean James 6’5″ | SF Trinity Catholic | 2025 FL , A 6-5 junior small forward is a decent-sized wing who rebounded exceptionally well on the defensive end shows a lot of upside heading into the season. On the offensive end, he is a traditional back-to-the-basket player who gets most of his scoring at the rim. James also showed a ton of versatility where he can guard multiple positions out on the perimeter using his length and being a disruptor in the passing lanes.
Willie Thompson
Willie Thompson
Willie Thompson, A 6-7 senior power forward was an absolute beast at the Prep Hoops Top 250 providing a ton of rim protection on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, Thompson was explosive scoring off of dribble-drives where he had a couple dunks at the front of the rim. He was also very effective in the pick-and-roll offense where his footwork has continued to improve. On the defensive end, Thompson was very versatile where he can guard multiple positions as well as use his length to an advantage. Huge upside for Thompson heading into the upcoming season.
