Throughout the next few days, myself and Jeremy Brooks will be running through some of the standout performers from the event, and providing full evaluations of every player in attendance. This article will take a look at each player from Team 1.
The combo guard from Illinois was really good in all three games that his team played, looking to attack the rim relentlessly. He’s a quick guard who handles it well and can get to the bucket, and he does a great job changing speeds and playing with pace. He has excellent body control around the rim and is a strong finisher through contact. He’s good in ball screen actions, showing the ability to turn the corner and get to the rim, step behind and knock down jumpers, or find the roll/pop man. He covers a lot of ground on the defensive end and is a good help defender who came away with a few blocked shots off of good rotation.

Whitner is an intriguing young prospect, a long and athletic 6-4 wing who uses his length effectively on the defensive end. He’s active on the glass on both ends of the floor and is a good enough ball-handler to be able to lead the break after pulling down a defensive board. He has good touch around the rim with either hand and he’s a fluid athlete who changes directions well. He showed some confidence in his jumper, but is at his best when he’s playing downhill and attacking.
