Here are the top five big men added to the 2024 class rankings:
29 – Mason Kemp Mason Kemp 6'7" | C Mill Valley | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2024, Mill Valley:
A guy who has received some buzz as a football player, Kemp stood out as a long armed, skilled big man as a junior on a team with quite a bit of talent on the front line. Kemp has a nice midrange game and a lot of ability to finish around the rim. He runs the floor really well and has a lot of spring, making him dominant on the glass and an intimidating shot blocker. He earned some all-state attention and should get a lot more this year. He has elite athleticism for a big man.
56 – Kaiden Seamster Kaiden Seamster 6'3" | SF Chanute | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-3 forward, 2024, Chanute:
The first of the Chanute senior tandem to get ranked, Seamster is a multi-sport stud with a lot of power and athleticism. He earned first-team honors in the Southeast Kansas League and some all-state looks as well. He’s a disruptive force on the defensive end and he sparks the team with his impressive dunks.
76 – Jace Evans Jace Evans 6'2" | SF Rose Hill | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-2 forward, 2024, Rose Hill:
Evans is ready to step into a leadership role for the Rockets with the graduation of star guard Kellan Simoneau. Evans is long and lanky but has the athleticism to star on the football field and also to play a physical style around the goal. He earned second team in the AVCT Div. IV and should see more opportunities to be the man this season.
80 – Larsen Koester Larsen Koester 6'2" | SF Chanute | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-2 forward, 2024, Chanute:
A really good season came to a disappointing end for the Blue Commets last year, but they can look to some good seniors to take it to the next level this year. Continuing the theme of multi-sport studs, Koester is a baseball standout with good strength and athleticism. He can get hot from deep and change a game. The second-teamer in the Southeast Kansas League has a ton of experience and versatility.
82 – Ethan Dillinger Ethan Dillinger 6'7" | C Erie | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2024, Erie (pictured):
Another baseball standout, you can just imagine how tough it must be to dig in at the plate against the towering lefty Dillinger. He is a lean, shot-blocking big who loves to step out to the perimeter and light it up. He was named first team Tri-Valley League last year and looks to be one of the best big men in 2A as a senior.
