Here are some unranked 3A seniors who just might flourish this year (in alphabetical order):
Kian Blanchat Kian Blanchat 6'4" | PF Smoky Valley | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-4 forward, 2024, Smoky Valley:
Blanchat has flown under the radar at Smoky Valley because the team has hovered around .500 the past couple of years. The versatile senior grew into a team leader as a junior and earned some all-state recognition as well as second-team in the Central Kansas League. He can shoot it from deep, rebound and dishes out a couple of assists per game.
Taylor Campbell Taylor Campbell 6'2" | SG Smoky Valley | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-2 guard, 2024, Lyons:
A long, lanky scorer, Campbell is a slasher and a shooter from deep. He averaged 17 points per game en route to second-team in the Central Kansas League and some all-state consideration. He is a physical mismatch for small guards and can create his own shot.
Roman Hauser Roman Hauser 6'4" | SF Norton Community | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-4 forward, 2024 Norton:
Hauser is an interesting player. He’s big – listed at 230 pounds. He shoots it well from deep and knocks down 70% from the line. He provided across the board, with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The team was really good, and Hauser doesn’t take a lot of shots. Thus he only averaged 8.5 points last season. He has the physique and skill set to have a big senior season.
Joey Henderson Joey Henderson 5'8" | PG Concordia | 2024 State KS , 5-foot-8 guard, 2024, Concordia:
A first-teamer in the North Central Kansas League, Henderson may be not be tall, but he’s powerfully built and a creative playmaker. He has a quick first step and a nice crossover to get penetration. He sees open teammates and is a fine distributor. His toughness and effort make him a team leader. He is one of the top returning point guards in 3A.
Harvey Zimmerman, 6-foot-2 forward, 2024, Wichita Trinity Academy:
A big, physical athlete, Zimmerman makes plays all over the floor for Trinity. With his thick, powerful frame he is a force on the low block. He gets his hands on a lot of balls in the paint. Then he can flip the court by pushing it himself, passing ahead or taking it end to end to create offensive opportunities. The second-team Central Plains League honoree will look to help lift his team above .500 next year.
