Cameron Codio Commits To FGCU

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Thursday night, another member of the Class of 2024 has announced where they will be heading to play their collegiate careers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The latest is Bishop Moore 6-2 senior combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1055584' first='Cameron' last='Codio'] who announced on his social media platforms, he will be staying in-state to play collegiately at Florida Gulf Coast University.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Codio transferred to Bishop Moore from national-powerhouse Montverde Academy earlier in the summer where he was playing on their collegiate development program for the last two seasons. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Codio was also named to the 1st team All-SIAA as a junior last season for the Eagles while averaging 15.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.2 steals per game and shot 41 percent from beyond the arc. He was also a member of Game Speed Elite based out of Orlando during the AAU season where he averaged 22 points and five assists per game this spring.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Codio is an elite playmaker from the point guard position where he controls the game at a high level, as well as play with good speed when he has the basketball in his hands. Codio has a huge knack of bringing energy on the defensive end of the floor as well as he's an underrated rebounder for his size and continues to bring huge upside guarding on the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Codio will look to run the primary point guard duties for Bishop Moore this upcoming season replacing four-year point guard and the team's leading scorer Alex Madrid who graduated last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
