The Finale: 15U Day 2 Afternoon Standouts

Players from Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, and possibly even other places. This event is loaded with talent. This article is breaking down the top 15U performers from the last three games I saw on day 2 of the event. It consisted of: Oklahoma Wolfpack Baker vs Next Level, OWE Elite vs JEB Elite, and the third game was Oklahoma Wolfpack Wilson vs Oklahoma Impact. He started off the game by hitting a mid-range pull-up when the defender gave him a little space. His height advantage helped him not be phased. Rebounding was not an issue for him, as he had over 10 rebounds. Multiple of them were offensive rebounds. He showed the ability to score inside, as well as knocking down a mid-range jumper. On defense, I recorded four blocks and two steals, but it is possible that I missed some of them. He started off the game by setting the tone early, by hitting three threes in a row. One of them came out for a four point plays. On one, he hit a three while drawing the foul, for a four-point play. I counted four three pointers throughout the game for him. Outside of his shooting, he can score in other ways. He can knock down shots and knock down his free throws. Outside of his ability to score, he impacted the game with his great defense and rebounding. He is like a high flying acrobat as he soars through the air for putback dunks, blocks, and one rebound after another. He grabbed probably close to 13-15 rebounds in this game. To go along with that, he scored inside by utilizing his size and athleticism to shoot over the opponent or he would dunk the ball. He finished with a double-double in this game. On defense, he came away with several steals and blocks in this one, swatting the ball out of bounds like three or four times in the game. His finishes were not dunks, but he plays with a fiery passion that made him fun to watch. He would attack the basket without hesitation, finishing through contact despite the size disadvantage. Having multiple and-ones, just in the second half, made him fun to watch. He hit a pull-up three and knocked down another three during the game. He was efficient from the free throw line. On defense, he played great perimeter defense and turned it up even more in the second half. He forced a steal and got an assist in transition. This is the second game that I saw him play and he was great on offense in both of the games.
