Trey is a player with a high ceiling and a determination to meet it someday. He shared some time with me as we dug in to his last few months and what is to come.
How was your summer?
It was good. It was very fun. Entertaining. Successful.
Defense seems to be an area where you really thrive. How did that come about?
I was like, taught defense first. That is how you get your offense going. I like a good challenge. I like to guard the best player.
Are you getting steals with your hands, your feet? Both?
Moving my feet. Moving my feet first and then poking the ball out.
Do you think you have better defensive instincts than most players?
I think so.
What was it like to play with Brad Beal Elite? Did they treat you well?
Yeah. They treated me great. I love the team. Being around players that were smart.
Who were some of the guys on your AAU team that you see a big future for in basketball?
Jaylan Mitchell. JJ Andrews.
Were you nervous about playing for a team based out of Missouri? Did it feel like something new, foreign?
It was different. I was a little nervous.
How long did it take to settle in?
After the first couple of practices.
What kind of advice are you getting on your game from family?
Keep working hard. Be consistent.
Is your body holding up with all of the playing?
It felt good. I was a little tired this week, but good.
What do you like to do during non-basketball times?
I like to swim. Hang out with friends. Play video games.
What video game are you playing lately?
I have been playing 2K.
What team do you play with?
I play with Lakers.
Is Lebron coming back for another season?
Yes.
Favorite musical artist right now?
I will go with Lil’ Baby.
Thank you for your time. Great summer. I am proud of you.
Thank you.
