We will take a look at those prospects who have picked up division offers so far this summer, and a little about their game. Here’s a look at part three of the 2025 MD prospects who have new schools recruiting them this summer.
Emmanuel Kanga | 6’8” C | Mt. Zion
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #15
Spring/Summer Offers: Towson, Georgetown, Maryland, College of Charleston, Nicholls, George Washington
Kanga just came to the states, and he wasted no time making a name for himself running with DC Premier 16U which was one of the best teams in the country and he’ll be playing on a very talented Mt. Zion team this next year. Kanga has already received high major offers without having played a high school game yet as he shows a great motor and athleticism with the ability to run the floor and finish above the rim, he pursues the basketball aggressively off the glass and rebounds everything and he’s a big time shot blocker and rim protector too. He still has a lot of polishing to do as he continues to develop, but he can make an impact at a high level already on the defensive end and doing the dirty work too.
William Harper William Harper 6'4" | PG Gonzaga | 2025 State MD | 6’4” PG | Gonzaga
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #16
Spring/Summer Offers: American, George Mason, Loyola, Harvard, Fordham, George Washington
Harper also runs with that talented DC Premier group, and because he plays on a Gonzaga team with so much talent in the backcourt this summer was his chance to show what he can do and he took advantage of that picking up a slew of mid major offers. The 6’4” lead guard has good size and tremendous feel with the ball in his hands, he is dynamic in transition and in the pick-and-roll with his ability to get to the rim and finish, he can make shots from multiple levels and he sets the tone on the defensive end. He’ll have a lot more coaches in the gym with all of that talent and he could see his recruitment grow even more.
Dominick Stewart Dominick Stewart 6'6" | CG Mt. Zion Prep | 2025 CA-S | 6’5” SG | Mt. Zion
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #16 (2024, reclassified to 2025)
Spring/Summer Offers: Indiana State, George Washington, Mount St. Mary’s, ODU, UTEP, George Mason, Cal
Stewart was impressive playing in the Elite Prep League as a true junior last year against fifth year post grad players, and he already was picking up offers after that, but since reclassifying to the 2025 class this summer he’s started to see his recruitment take off with a slew of mid major offers and his first high major offer from Cal. Stewart played with Team Durant on the Nike EYBL Circuit, and just got better and better throughout the summer, as he was named a breakout player at Peach Jam and he had a good showing at the DMV Live sessions as well. The 6’5” guard is a smart player with great feel and makes the right plays on both ends of the floor, he can make shots off the catch and off the bounce from deep and in the midrange, he’s a good athlete who can play above the rim and he just makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
Christian Thomas Christian Thomas 6'6" | SF C.E. King | 2025 State #325 Nation TX | 6’5” SF | SEED
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #18
Spring/Summer Offers: Incarnate Word, George Mason, Lamar
Thomas is emerging more and more as a prospect to really keep an eye on, and coaches are taking notice with him picking up a few offers this summer. While he’s still relatively under the radar it doesn’t take long to see his potential as he has good size on the wing, he can put it on the deck and score it in isolation situations, he can makes tough shots off the catch and off the bounce, he’s a good rebounder and he competes on both ends of the floor. The smooth lefty is going to turn heads as he continues to improve, and the coaches who are in early are doing their jobs!
Gio Sanford Gio Sanford 6'5" | SF Riverdale Baptist | 2025 State MD | 6’4” SF | Roosevelt
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #23
Spring/Summer Offers: Nicholls
Sanford is another player who Nicholls has offered in the area as they try to make their mark, and he had a good summer running with the super talented DC Premier 16U group. Sanford is a do it all wing with good size who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a very good defender both on the ball and in help side with the ability to jump passing lanes, he can make shots from deep off the catch and on the move, he’s pretty shifty off the bounce and he can create for himself and others as he has good feel and IQ too.
Bobby Montgomery Bobby Montgomery 6'5" | SF Mt. Zion | 2025 State #229 Nation MD | 6’5” SF | Mt. Zion Prep
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #28
Spring/Summer Offers: ECU, Nicholls
Montgomery is a player who has made a name for himself early when he moved to Mt. Zion, and over the summer with DC Premier and at the DMV Live sessions he showed he’s starting to turn the corner and picked up some offers along the way. At 6’5” Montgomery looks the part with long arms and a strong frame, he’s a big time athlete who gets out in transition and plays well above the rim, he can stick shots from deep when he’s left open and he has good feel as a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He’s an all-around wing who makes an impact on both ends of the floor, and if he can take a jump this year he’ll see his recruitment take off moving forward.
