Will Ameden, 6’4 W/F – Burr and Burton Academy Class of 2024
Watching Will, you know he has an instinctual feel for the game. Ameden is comfortable in nearly every role; he’s a facilitator from any spot on the floor and he has the scoring ability to make defenses pay for not sending help. A crafty 3-level scorer with crisp footwork with heady passing, Will cuts defenses up. Strong as a rebounder too, Will’s dynamic game leads BBA.
Carter Thompson, 5’11 G – Mount Anthony Union H.S. Class of 2024
The combo-guard at MAU brings an offensive arsenal with him. Carter’s a savvy slasher and shooter off the catch, and because he makes split second decisions, Thompson doesn’t give the defense a moment to rest. He can create offense himself, find space off ball, and his work in transition puts defenders on their heels. Carter’s one of the best guards in Southern VT.
Shemar Sookdar, 5’10 G – Mount Anthony Union H.S. Class of 2025
From what I’ve seen of Shemar, this kid is athletic and quite skilled; he and Carter fill out the MAU backcourt with dynamic playmaking. Sookdar’s a born scorer who finishes well at the cup and from 3. With his vision + all the defensive attention he demands, Shemar serves up dimes and dissects defenses. Anticipatory defensively and an adept rebounder from the guard slot, Shemar can fill up a stat sheet.
Joe Buxton, 6’4 W/F – Green Mountain Select/Fair Haven Union H.S. Class of 2024
A 3&D type with nice versatility defensively, Joe is the modern SF. Buxton’s spacing as a knockdown shooter opens up the floor, and he can slash + put pressure on the rim too. On the defensive side of the ball, Joe covers the wing exceptionally well and he serves nicely at the 4 too. An adept rebounder and lane runner in transition, Joe brings a solid two-way presence.
Phil Bean, 6’4 F – Green Mountain Select/Fair Haven Union H.S. Class of 2025
The forward duo of Phil and Joe brings a toughness to the table for FHU. Bean’s stout frame and anticipation around the rim provides solid rim protection and rebounding. On the offensive end, Phil’s contributions are clear. He’s a strong screener, has a few go-to moves on the block, and his offensive rebounding/second chance points are pivotal.
Dez Krakowka, 6’3 W/F – Mount Saint Joesph’s Academy Class of 2025
With Dez, you get a little of everything. Krakowka’s post work is full of power and footwork, able to move guys with his strength and finish with a variety of pivots around the cup. Yet he can step out and space the floor as a shooter and passer, opening up the paint as he makes plays for others. Defensively he hits the glass and protects the interior, yet he can defend the perimeter and run the break himself off a board too. Dynamic and skilled.
Oakley Francis, 6’3 W/F – Pro City/Vergennes Union H.S. Class of 2024
Defensively, Oak is an absolute force. Francis defends 2-4 with his length, athleticism, and high motor. He’s able to battle on the perimeter and switch on anything, yet he most often defends opposing bigs, and for good reason. Oak is physical around the rim, challenges shots well, and rebounds at a high clip. He has a few moves on the block offensively, and his slashing from the short corner + perimeter is hard to contain.
