Coach Travis leads a group full of talented prospects, much of whom have not received a lot of attention this Spring/Summer. What stood out the most about the group was their team chemistry and how well they played together. Small college coaches in the region (D3/NAIA) should definitely come take a hard look at this squad.
This summer, Carson Jones Carson Jones 6’2″ | SG Creighton Prep | 2024 State NE is establishing himself as one of the premier shooters in his class. The guard out of Creighton Prep went 20-32 last weekend in Kansas City from behind the arc, averaging over 17 PPG. There is no doubt that the sharpshooter can get hot in a hurry. However, do not limit Jones to just a shooter. In the practice I watched, he did not settle for outside shots, as he took his man to the rim and finished through contact several times. Expect his recruitment to continue to rise.
Nate Roberts Nate Roberts 6'6" | PF Elkhorn | 2024 State NE
Nate Roberts Nate Roberts 6'6" | PF Elkhorn | 2024 State NE
Nate Roberts Nate Roberts 6’6″ | PF Elkhorn | 2024 State NE had a really good practice Wednesday night. He was all over the court, and made his presence known. Roberts is a long and athletic forward who can finish above the rim. He showed off his leaping ability several times throughout practice. Roberts can also stretch the defense with his outside shot, and can take defenders off of the bounce. The Elkhorn product has a lot of potential and intangibles to be a big time basketball player.
Colin Comstock Colin Comstock 6’2″ | SG Elkhorn | 2024 State NE adds to the depth of the backcourt on this exciting squad. Comstock can play both guard positions, as he can create for himself and for his teammates. Last season for Elkhorn, Comstock averaged in double figures. He is a skilled offensive player who can score in a variety of ways, including behind the three point line. Comstock also had some really nice takes to the rim, and showed flashes of improvement from his Junior campaign. Expect his stock to continue to rise.
Jordan Gassen Jordan Gassen 6'1" | PG Millard West | 2024 State NE
Jordan Gassen Jordan Gassen 6'1" | PG Millard West | 2024 State NE
Jordan Gassen Jordan Gassen 6’1″ | PG Millard West | 2024 State NE out of Millard West impressed with his skillset at the guard position. Gassen had some really strong takes to the rim, and showcased the ability to finish in variety of different ways. He is not afraid to seek out contact from bigger defenders, but also is elusive enough to evade shot blockers around the rim. Gassen had a nice outing last season for Millard West, but will have a much larger role due to some departures on the squad. He is an exciting prospect at the guard position with a lot of flavor to his game.
