Following are five that caught my attention
Class of 2026
Joe Gaffney Joe Gaffney 5'9" | PG Charlevoix | 2026 State MI 5-9 Charlevoix Coming off a big freshman season. Gaffney showed why he had earned some early accolades. Not very big but plays with absolutely no fear. Keeps defenses honest with a pure and efficient outside shot. Plays with a low center of gravity that aids his shiftiness and speed. While he will most likely be a point guard long term. Has already showed plenty of scoring ability. Averaged nearly 15 points per game with some high shooting percentages.
Cassius Feeney Cassius Feeney 6'0" | PG Traverse City Central | 2026 State MI 5-10 Traverse City Central I first caught Feeney two weekends ago at the Chicago Summer Challenge. Shot the ball very well that weekend. Continued to do so at Tuesday’s camp. Will need to shoot it well. As he is not very big at this point of his development. As part of a very talented young group of Trojans. Unlike like some of the other prospects on this list. He will probably have the benefit of being brought along slowly.
Corbin Bisballe Corbin Bisballe 6'1" | PG Lake City | 2026 State MI 6-1 Lake City This prospect has made large gains in a short period of time. Played point guard at the varsity level for a rebuilding Lake City program. At times did not appear ready as his squad struggled to a three win season. However the switch seems to have flipped during the spring and summer. Is playing off the ball more. Which I think he is more comfortable doing. While he is still very skinny. He appears to have added some strength to his slender lanky frame. After a rough first season. The arrow is definitely pointing up on his development.
Rowan Zickert Rowan Zickert 5'10" | PG Benzie Central | 2026 State MI 5-10 Benzie Central (pictured) Has a game and physical resemblance similar to Gaffney. A more natural scorer than Gaffney. Where Gaffney is more of natural point guard. Like Bisballe, Zickert seems to rebuilding his game a bit. After a rough (at times) first season on varsity. Also like Bisballe was forced to play point out of necessity and might not have been ready for that role. Like his older brother. Zickert is a natural stand still shooter. That being said. If he doesn’t get much bigger. He will need to continue to work on his skills as a playmaker.
Class of 2027
Nathan Rodenbaugh 6-2 McBain In all honesty, I was prepared to write about fellow participant and teammate Clayton Heuker Clayton Heuker 6'5" | SF McBain | 2027 State MI from the 2027 class. However Heuker sustained an injury and was a limited participant in the camp. That allowed an opportunity for Rodenbaugh to show that Ramblers have two promising prospects who have yet to step foot in high school. Rodenbaugh is a long and lean athlete similar to his older brother Ben. Is a good ball handler with the size to see over most defenders. Especially at his grade level. Also showed the ability to confidently shoot the basketball. Definitely a prospect to watch in the future for the Northern Michigan region.
