Prep Hoops Missouri brings back its grassroots team spotlight features for part of the month of July. Today, we take a look at the Real Dream Chasers 16U squad out of the Kansas City area. This is a talented, well balanced team that plays with good chemistry. After watching a couple of their games, here a few observations about their individual players.
Marquel Mayfield Marquel Mayfield 6'3" | SG St. Joe Central | 2025 State MO : A 6’3″ 2025 guard from St. Joe Central with good length and athleticism and the ability to touch the paint on the dribble whenever he wants to. He can get downhill on a straight line drive or with a smooth hesi move. The long lefty can also complete his slashing drives with some acrobatic finishes in heavy traffic. He can also stop and pop and hit the mid-range jumper or the spot up 3-pointer.

Blue Renfrow: A 6’4″ 2025 forward from Liberty North who attacks the basket well with a variety of moves in the low post. He has a nice spin move in the lane and he can operate in tight spaces with his good footwork. He is also a good interior passer from the high post. He displayed his athleticism with a few entertaining dunks in transition.

Ryne Jensen: A 6’5″ 2025 forward from Liberty North who can wheel and deal inside the lane for inside buckets with a good combination of physical strength and finesse. He can bull-moose his way in the lane while using good head and shoulder fakes to draw contact and get himself to the free throw line for And 1s. He is also very effective from the high post with his good passing ability.

Harvey Sayon Harvey Sayon 6'3" | SG Kearney | 2025 State MO : A 6’3″ 2025 guard from Kearney who plays the Swiss Army Knife role very effectively. He is a bouncy athlete with a high motor who is an excellent slashing threat who can score at the rim. He is a good in the transition game and he can pull up and hit the mid-range jumper with good elevation. He is an excellent offensive rebounder with a quick jump and a quicker reaction to the ball. He can also impact the game defensively with his good length and instincts.

Tre Smith: A 5’10” 2025 point guard from Kearney who does an excellent job of distributing the ball. He’s pass-first all the way and he does a good job of getting the ball to his teammates in their comfort areas. He can dish the ball effectively with either hand. He can also compromise the defense with his ability to get into the lane on his dribble penetration. He can also knock down the open 3-pointer.

Andrew Way: A 6’4″ 2024 forward from Kearney who brings good length and activity off the bench. He can knock down perimeter shots off the catch and he moves well into the open spots. He uses his length well to corral offensive rebounds. He can also handle the ball well as he grabbed the defensive rebound and took off to lead the break on occasion.

Quan Daryius-Wainwright: A 6’2″ 2025 guard from St. Joe Central who is an excellent rebounder for his position. He can start the break without an outlet pass. He was very good at pushing the ball in transition and he delivered some nifty passes on the break and in the half court offense. He also scored on some impressive runners in the lane.

Aidan Smith: A 5’8″ 2025 guard from East Buchanan who provided some excellent 3-point shooting and steady ball handling when he entered the game. He sprinted the floor well on the break to knock down the transition 3-pointer. He also stayed low on the dribble when he was able to get into the lane.

Brock Windham: A 6’2″ 2025 forward from Maysville who has a thick body and he uses his physical strength to move people around in the lane. He maneuvers around the paint pretty well as he uses his body to draw contact against taller players inside. He can also step and and hit an open perimeter shot.

Colin Bolander: A 5’9 2025 point guard from Staley who is a solid player off the bench. He is a steady ball handler who kept the ball moving with his passing.
