Here were some of the SF/PF’s standouts I observed at the 3SSB Championships:
Jai Anthoni Bearden Jai Anthoni Bearden 6'6" | SF Sunnyslope | 2024 State AZ Sunnyslope (Compton Magic) (Pictured)
A two-way player gets on the glass, runs the floor, fights for loose balls and will score it around the rim. His live motor runs hot throughout the game. He started defending the stud opposing PG showing how versatile he is and then a 5 star SG in the next game. He can hit the open three and his ability to just defend almost every position on the court, makes him a good target.
Amare Runyon Amare Runyon 6'6" | PF Sandra Day O'Connor | 2026 State AZ Sandra Day O’Connor (Team Zona 15)
A big post player with strength and girth. He had big hands and patience in the post to score versus taller players. He has a sneaky quick second jump and will score on put backs and tip ins. He walls up like you should and he is hard to move in the paint.
Cristian Simmons Cristian Simmons 6'8" | PF Sunnyslope | 2026 State AZ Sunnyslope (Compton Magic 15)
A long power forward can rebound in and out of his area. He has post footwork to utilize with good hands to catch difficult passes in his area. He can catch and shoot from the three point line and has a nice touch from the free throw line. He will run the floor and plays hard in the paint versus opposing bigs.
Dylan Coday Dylan Coday 6'5" | PF Millennium | 2026 State AZ Millennium (AZ Storm 15 Gold)
A decent sized power forward who works well in the paint. He has good hands and a pretty touch to score. He is smart off the pick and roll and will rebound in his area. He is also a very smart passer and can dribble drive and create his own offense in the paint.
Brayden Barrett Brayden Barrett 6'5" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ MIllennium (AZ Storm 15 Gold)
A sturdy framed wing forward made his usual three point shots off the catch with one of the quicker releases in the class. He can also dribble it after a shot fake and get to the basket with crafty play and a big IQ. He rebounds well in his area and will be pivotal for the Tigers this season.
Koa Peat Koa Peat 6'8" | PF Perry | 2025 State #6 Nation AZ Perry (Compton Magic 17)
A point forward type took the reins this week. He handled the PG duties and made plays. He works well in the high post and goes to work with either hand. He will often grab and go. He will take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast. What actually stood out was his defense on the ball defensively. His moves his feet way better then gets credited with in space. He has a nice crossover into a pull-up from mid-range.
Jinup Dobuol Jinup Dobuol 6'8" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State #258 Nation AZ Phhoenix Prep (D1 Minnesota)
A long wing forward who can play inside and out. He is a fluid runner and rebounds in and out of his area. He can shoot it from the three point with range then drive to the rim or score on put backs with his size and length. He will block shots and rebound in his area. His shooting, size and defense stand out.
