Brock Wissmar is an interesting player. Wissmar was effective, at least against Whites Creek. He was listed 6-foot-5 as a freshman, but he played bigger Friday. Tall, strong around the basket. BW rebounded high with two hands. Drew a foul. Good shooting form. Wissmar will be an intriguing piece for a team with high ambitions in the upcoming basketball season.
Rocco Lamuno performed very well Friday, in all games.
Ravenwood was very persistent with high intensity. They showed great on-ball defense in all three games Friday. RHS owns a couple of guards that are pretty solid. When you gamble, maybe not gamble but aggressively check Whites Creek, they’re pretty good at escaping that. Over the course of an entire game the Ravenwood-style of defense will probably either emotionally and or physically wear down the attacking side.
Whites Creek
The lack of purpose on offense was bothersome in this specific game. Individually they might be scores and dribblers, but it looks like they lack some kind of overarching structure to their offensive game.
The primary ball handler for Whites Creek is Eric Bryson Jr. Good, quick first step. Bryson Jr. can go both ways, left or right. There’s a strong powerful teammate Jaden Thompson. Jaden looks like a kind of a role player in that he doesn’t do a lot for you offensively and probably will provide steady defense at multiple positions on the other side.
Ravenwood is a really good team. There is ambition clearly in their program. It was impressive the tenacity ghey played with, especially when there’s virtually no fans in the building. They look like the type of team that wins a district or makes a big postseason push. They just have a lot of pieces and they play really well together and with intensity. Ravenwood shoots pretty well from the outside.
The team features multiple guys who will score from the outside. They work for each other and they look like the type of team that understands how they can help each other and wants to help each other, which are intangibles that can go a long way.
