Kendall Bentley Kendall Bentley 6'2" | SG River Rouge | 2024 State MI 6-2 2024 River Rogue (pictured) As the only Michigan player on a good Toledo based Hopson Elite squad. Might be a little off the radar for some Michigan centric high school basketball fans. Played with intensity and purpose all day Saturday. Powerful driver who sheds defenders on penetration. Almost like a good running back. If he gets a step or an opening to the basket. He hits it hard. Along with the sudden acceleration. Has excellent stop and start ability. Uses it along with good elevation to be especially potent in the mid range. Good enough ball handler to swing to the point when needed. However is a scoring guard at this juncture of his development.
Jakobie Boose Jakobie Boose SG Flint Hamady | 2024 State MI 6-2 2024 Flint Hamady I never want to sell a player short on an evaluation. Boose is the type of prospect that makes that kind of difficult. I don’t mean this as a slight— but his game isn’t that complex. He is simply an electric next level athlete. With an emerging perimeter skill set. If he were a few inches taller. He would be a “no doubt it” Division I prospect. There is just that much bounce in his legs. About midway through the camp the deep three started to fall. When that starts to happen. There is not much defenders can do. Will be the leader of one the deeper Division II squads in the state. Fellow Hawk 2025 6-5 post man Warren Cain Warren Cain 6'4" | SF Flint Hamady | 2025 State MI also played well Saturday.
Lance Stone Lance Stone 5'7" | PG Detroit Renaissance | 2025 State #179 Nation MI 5-7 2025 Detroit Renaissance Caught Stone last weekend in Columbus with All Ohio Red Select. Took his game to the next level at little closer to home. If you have seen him live you know where the demerits start and end. He is not very big. That’s about all you could ding him for on Saturday. Controlled every scrimmage and drill station he participated in. The intangibles really stand out in a setting like this. Showed good leadership qualities and a high level competitiveness. Didn’t want to lose anything. Was a wizard in pick and roll situations. Flashy ball handler and passer. Along with Chris McLavish Jr Chris McLavish Jr 5'8" | PG Kell | 2025 State GA , Darryl Thompkins Darryl Thompkins 5'9" | PG East Kentwood | 2025 State MI , and Moses Blackwell Moses Blackwell 5'8" | PG Warren Lincoln | 2025 State MI there are some serious next level diminutive point guards in the 2025 class.
Stevie Elam Stevie Elam 6'2" | CG Adrian | 2025 State MI 6-2 2025 Adrian I’m not a big fan of cliches One that I like, and I’m biased because I’m going to claim ownership. Is that you can tell a lot about guard when the outside shot isn’t falling. It forces a player to show off the full skill set. While figuring out other ways to impact the game beyond scoring. At least in the action I watched Saturday. Elam’s outside shot wasn’t consistent. There did not appear to be anything off mechanically. Just wasn’t going in. About midway through the camp. He appeared to realize it. Seemed to flip a switch and became a powerful and assertive penetrator. Efficiently found the open man of the resulting dump offs and kick outs. Along with Stone had the tightest handle in the camp. Got to his spots easily on the perimeter. Has a thick but very athletic frame. Coming off a big spring on the grassroots circuit. Did nothing to quell that momentum on Saturday.
Nathan Washburn Nathan Washburn 6'8" | C Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ 6-8 2024 Macomb Dakota Best big man in the camp. Showed an increased level of strength and mobility. Rolled hard and played well in the two man man game with Lance Stone Lance Stone 5'7" | PG Detroit Renaissance | 2025 State #179 Nation MI . Continues to display a soft touch around basket. Has good hands. Corralling some difficult passes both in transition and the half court. Elevates quickly to the rim on dunks. Does it without the need of a gather or power dribble. This prospect has shown a lot of growth in the last four years. Coming off a good spring with DTO Elite. The arrow continues to point way up on his development.
