After being down at the Hanover College Shootout on Thursday we had boots on the ground at Wabash College for their first high school shootout of the month on Friday. There were several solid teams from west central Indiana and eastern Illinois in attendance. Let’s dive on in to five takeaways from our time spent in the gym on Friday in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Lafayette Jefferson features a couple of new names, at least to us here at Prep Hoops Indiana, on Friday at the Wabash College Shootout. Rising senior guard Angelo Hausmanis shot the ball at a high level throughout the day. He was making them from deep beyond the arc, off of the dribble behind ballscreens, and creating for himself in the mid-range. Meanwhile, rising junior point guard Lonzo Clawson-Smith showed off some shifty moves off of the dribble while making plays for himself and his teammates. He is a really high IQ floor general.
Avon looked like they were going to be a team on the rise in 2023-2024. Rising senior guard Jordan Lomax Jordan Lomax 6'3" | SG Brownsburg | 2024 State IN is back and still a very talented offensive player. The long, athletic, 6’3” guard averaged 17.3 points per game last season. Elsewhere for the Orioles, rising sophomore guard Jedidah Minnett continued his strong spring with a good scoring effort at the Wabash College Shootout. He is a talented shooter and can create for himself off of the bounce. Rising juniors Isaac Kramer Isaac Kramer 6'2" | PG Avon | 2025 IN and Enoch Atewogbola also had productive days for Avon.
Ethan Roseman Ethan Roseman 6'0" | PG Bishop Chatard | 2026 State IN continues to impress for Bishop Chatard. The Trojans were missing a few starters due to football commitments, but the rising sophomore guard still found a way to make plays for himself and his teammates. Roseman is excellent in the mid-range and is a creative finisher when he gets all the way to the basket. He was one of the most productive freshmen in the state last season and has continued to put up big numbers throughout the spring.
Pontiac (IL) High School featured a really impressive 6’4” wing in rising senior Riley Weber Riley Weber 6'4" | SF Pontiac | 2024 State IL . The left-hander absolutely filled it up from beyond the arc throughout the day at the Wabash College Shootout. He has good size, an obvious smooth outside shoot, and can create his own looks in the mid-range some as well. He looked the part of a solid small college prospect on Friday.
Danville is going to be a force once again in Class 3A. I really like their core of rising senior guard Caden Collins, rising junior wing Jace Scrafton Jace Scrafton 6'4" | SG Danville | 2025 State IN , and recent Indiana Footbal commit Evan Lawrence. Collins is a very skilled guard, Scrafton is very athletic on the perimeter, and Lawrence is an absolute load around the basket.
