Enis has taken his game to another level this spring with some huge performances for Team Wildcat HGSL. A quick athlete with the burst to get around primary defenders and a deep scoring bag, Enis has been a consistent performer all spring long. Gaining interest from the region’s top Division II programs, Enis has also gained some low major interest as well. With the talent Enis has, if he finds the right fit then he could be a guy who plays right away and makes an impact on winning early. Expect him to have a huge senior season and make a scholarship program really happy when he makes a commitment.
Another guard high on all Division II radars, Levis has one offer from Walsh but interest from plenty of other scholarship programs. After leading Lutheran West to the state championship game as a Junior, Levis is returning with an impressive cast of talent next season. One of the toughest isolation covers in the state, Levis has the ball on a string when he’s attacking the basket. I expect the amount of offers Levis has to increase by the time July concludes, a name for college coaches and fans to keep close tabs on over these next two months.
Another prep hoops circuit standout, Casenhiser has been playing some really impressive basketball as of late. A guard who goes all out every time he’s on the court, the competitiveness he shows is impossible to miss. As a scorer, Casenhiser has the ability to get buckets in a hurry, scoring 23.5 PPG as a Junior. A prospect with the talent to end up with a scholarship offer, Casenhiser will need to impress the right college coaches this summer and as a senior with Lake. Keep your eyes on this talented prep hoops circuit guard!
The final prep hoops circuit standout to be featured in this article, Bays has had a big spring for Hopson Elite. Initially getting on our radars at the Toledo Top 64 event, Bays continued to raise his profile with an impressive Junior season that included a school record 43 points Vs Napoleon. Bays holds one offer from Lourdes University and has attended prospect camps at Bowling Green and Youngstown State this week. Hopson Elite has some impressive small college talent for college coaches to watch this July.

Lewis has been a standout for OBC this spring and his scoring confidence has taken a leap this spring. I’ve always been a fan of the decision making and play-making ability of Lewis but with his increased off the dribble shooting has taken his game up a notch. I expect Lewis to put up some big-time numbers in the OCC as a senior and establish himself as one of the top floor generals in central Ohio.
Another guard who impressed me this spring, I caught Penrod alongside Wes Enis Wes Enis 6’2″ | SG Miami East | 2024 OH at the Midwest Jamfest in Indianapolis back in early May. Penrod is an undersized guard but has a lot of wiggle with the ball in his hands. A dangerous shooter from the outside, Penrod connected on 48 3-pointers as a Junior which allowed him to finish third in his conference at 16.9 PPG. I thought Penrod’s biggest jump came physically from last summer and that’s allowed him to compete as a defender more easily. While there will still be questions due to his size, I thought his effort levels were high and he was usually in the right place defensively, which is a prerequisite for undersized guards to last at the college level.

An elite shooter from the outside, Patton put up some impressive numbers on the Adidas Gold Gauntlet this spring with one of Midwest Basketball Club’s 17 U squads. When Patton is able to spot-up from the outside and get a drive and dish, it’s usually going in for three points. With his production this spring, I expect some small college programs looking for a shooter to keep their eyes on Patton. Westerville Central has a nice guard rotation returning next season with lots of small college talent in the 2024 class, they could be a sleeper team in central Ohio next season.
