SEPA Recruiting News:
Chase Coleman Chase Coleman 6'2" | PG Rocktop Academy | 2024 PA – 6’2″ / Junior / Plymouth Whitemarsh / NY Rens EYBL / Combo Guard: A starter and key piece to “P-Dub’s” 2022-23 District 1-6A championship team, Coleman was recently declared ineligible by the PIAA for next season because of age eligibility rules. Given his impressive athletecism and ability to score at all three levels, Coleman should have a number of Non-PIAA programs competing for his services.
Macon Emory – 6’7″ / Junior / Perkiomen School / Team Melo / Wing: Emory is multi-skilled wing style forward who is a high percentage 3-point shooter. This past season he helped push Perkiomen School to a state title and was named as a 3rd team Non-PIAA All-State selection. Emory just added an offer from Mt. Saint Mary’s to his growing pile.
Sahar Murphy – 5’9″ / 8th Grade / West Philly / Hunting Park Warriors / Combo Guard: Murphy is a highly acclaimed lefty with deep range on his three-point shot. But if a defender crowds him, Murphy will use his quick first step and elusive handles to get into the paint. Once there he can score via floaters and lay-ins or kick out to an open shooter. Murphy is a 2027 prospect to watch in June and is a tremendous “get” for the Speedboys.
Trey O’Neil Trey O’Neil 6'1" | CG Hill School | 2024 PA – 6’1” / Junior / Hill School / Shoreshots Rio / Combo Guard: O’Neil is a fast and athletic guard who thrives in transition. In the half-court he can score at all three levels. Back in January we watched O’Neil drop a 30-piece (7 threes) on Rocktop. Academy A number of those made triples came from logo distance. He also owns solid dribble-drive skills. Recently O’Neil received an offer from University of New Hampshire.
Carter Wamsley Carter Wamsley 6'7" | PF Eastern York | 2025 State PA – 6’5” / Sophomore / Eastern York / York Ballers / Wing: Wamsley (15.8ppg, 10 rpg., 3.6 apg.) is a high-level stretch-4 prospect. During Eastern York’s post season run, Wamsley elevated his game even further — 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4.5 assists per contest. He can bang in the low post, then score in close over defenders with his soft touch. On the perimeter, his guard-like handles allow Wamsley to get to his mid-range spots or all the way to the cup. As a bonus, Wamsley’s jump shot has flashed three-point range. Late last month Towson University gave Wamsley his first collegiate offer.
SEPA Recent Commitments:
Ryan Archey – 6’1” / Post Grad / Rocktop Academy / Point Guard: Archey (27 points & 9 dimes per night) is a downhill, attacking style of point guard who at the end of last month committed to Coppin State. His elite ability to change pace and direction enables him to get to the rim whenever he wants. Archey also owns a smooth stop and pop game. His 3-point shot must be respected too. As a bonus, to all this scoring, Archey can facilitate for teammates.
Camden Hurst – 6’2″ / Senior / Lancaster Mennonite / LA Elit3 / Point Guard: Hurst missed a substantial portion of the 2022-23 season with a wrist injury, but when he returned to action, Hurst completed one of SEPA’s most decorated basketball careers in style. In 2022-23, Hurst posted 22.7 points per contest and led LM to the 2A state title. Hurst (3x 2A All-State selection) capped off his career with an astonishing 23 points and 10 rebounds effort in that 2A state final game. Last week this 1,000+ point scorer committed to Mansfield University (D2)
Lance Piper – 6’6” / Sophomore / Phelps School / New Heights Lightening / Small Forward: In a bit of a surprising move, this lefty wing playmaker has committed to South Carolina extremely early. Additionally, Piper is going reclass and move up into the 2024 graduate year, so he can get to campus a year early. Piper (12 ppg.; 4 rpg.; 4 apg.; 40% 3PM) is a super athletic and long prospect who excels on the fast break where he plays above the rim.
