The competitive bunch recently earned championship title honors at Summer Slam in Appleton Wisconsin. In only their first year together they have made noise in the midwest at the 2027 level. Racine Truth is managed by Coach Darvis Lockridge, I was fortunate enough to chat with their head coach better get to know about their program. Here’s what he had to say.
What are your thoughts on how your team has competed thus far in circuit season? How have you prepared?
So far during this circuit I feel we have competed at a high level, with our record being 9-1. We have prepared by being students of the game, and preparing physically and mentally for in-game situations.
Which Prep Hoops Next event are you looking forward to most and why?
We are most looking forward to competing in the Prep Hoops National Championship.
Roster Breakdown
#0 Mikhi Pratt-Hassan | 6’0″ | Guard |
Mikhi is very versatile offensively, can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. Mikhi is also a strong passer.
#1 Michael Pratt-Hassan | 6″0′ | Guard |
Michael plays with understanding and skill. He has great ball control and is a 3-level scorer.
#2 Cole Betker | 5’8″ | Guard |
Cole is a versatile offensive player, he can score off the dribble and can also shoot at a great rate off the catch. He is a very high IQ player.
#3 Paul Moherek | 5’10” | Guard |
Paul plays one speed- which is Fast. He has quickness and a high motor, with the ability to shoot the ball off the dribble or off the catch.
#5 Michael Lewis | 5’9″ | F |
Michael is a very athletic, high jumper with quick speed. He is also able to defend at any level.
#7 Bryce Austin | 6’1″ | F |
Bryce can get to the basket off the drive with quickness, explosion and size. He is a high jumper with the ability to guard on all levels.
#8 Zareontae Gwinn | 6’0″ | F |
Great end to end ability with the ball in hands. Zare is also athletic with speed and quickness.
#21 Tolan Johnson | 5’5″ | G |
Tolan can defend at a very high level. His strength and speed causes problems for any opponent.
How does your roster stack up against last season’s roster? Any major changes?
This is our first year together.
What facet of the game do you want to improve on most going into next season?
There is always room for improvement so we are looking to improve on every level.
