SubscribeThe Northstar Titans 2027 Stone team is a team I didn’t see play live at the event, but watching online, they really stood out to me. A team with balanced talent with guard play and some versatile size. They had a strong showing at Prep Hoops Next NHR State Tournament, going 3-1 overall. A majority of their roster can play and each prospect contributes to the team in their own unique way. Let’s look at their main traits.

#3 Cal Spencer – 5’7 G 2027 – Cal is a nice guard and plays the game with understanding and skill. A sniper from three that can shoot it well beyond the line. He can control the ball and the action. Isn’t phased too much by defensive pressure, because of his handle and his composure and confidence. A three-level scorer with a nice floater-game.

#20 Cody Benson – 6’0 Wing/G 2027 – Benson is a prospect that flies around and is attacking the ball. A valuable asset as a slasher, transition player, and playmaker. He will defend and then run the other end to his fullest ability. Moves continuously without the ball and creates opportunities.

#30 Ephraim Radtke – 6’0 F 2027 – A slasher, offensively, that has some explosiveness to him as well. Knifes through the defense off the drive and will pull a three on you. So, he’s an offensive threat that needs to be respected. The more you watch of him, you realize how aggressive and how impactful he his, offensively.
#55 James Pelky – 6’3 F 2027 – Pelky stands out with his height and length. It’s tough to pin down on how he translates at this age, but if he keeps growing or improves his perimeter play, there’s some clear upside. Moves fairly well, but playing strength must improve.

#15 Rock Holubar – 6’3 F 2027 – Rock is a versatile defensive prospect. Moves well for his height and has a solid build. Not a big build by any means, but solid enough to hold his ground against size. And quick enough and well-positioned enough to defend on the perimeter. Offensively, he doesn’t have any major noticeable weaknesses, either. Can play on the perimeter just fine and will shoot it from three. Uses his size to gain an advantage off the dribble.

#2 Jacob Depoint – 5’5 SG 2027 – Depoint plays one speed and that is fast. Quickness and a high motor. He uses his speed to pressure the ball and stop any drive going at the hoop.
#10 Bryce Gaustad – 6’1 Wing 2027 – Another prospect that stands out with his frame and has the framework to build his skills upon. Plays a little too high on both ends.

#4 Nolan Roach – 5’10 G 2027 – Really liked this kid on film. Roach is a really good athlete that can move at speed and is a talented leaper. He’ll contest at the hoop, using his verticality. Uses his elite fluidity on both ends, playing team defense, and getting to the hoop off the drive, offensively.
