The big fella out of Texas might have some major upside in this class and not only because he is big but because in the last two years he has shown some significant growth in his game. He has turned into a more skilled big that is not just dominating the paint but is doing other things to help his team win. His passing ability has really been on display and in time he is going to be a player you can run your offense through on the post and in the high post. His jumper looks good and with more reps he is going to find his spots but playing in Texas really helps him because there are a lot of bigs and talent he can play against on any given weekend.
This kid has a motor and he is like a shark in water that can smell blood in the water. He will come after you defensively and pester you and set you up. At times he has a solid comp in George Hill, kinda has that all-around game on both ends. When he is running the PG position he is low to the ground and when he changes direction he is gone and it is hard to keep him in front. The foundation that will get this kid more run and keep him as a stock riser is that defense, not a lot of players will have his motor and defensive instincts.
This kid has crazy potential. I can see so many prep schools coming after this kid because he is an elite athlete that jumps out of the gym and he is developing into that next level big guard that everyone has been looking for. His ability to play multiple positions, handle the ball and attack the rim along with shooting really makes him valuable. Do not be surprised if he is one of the highest stock risers in the class, especially if he jumps on the right club team or simply plays in the right events he is bound to blow up. Remember the name Quinton Wilson out of Florida.
This kid really makes you watch the game closely. He is doing so many good things on the offensive end of the ball as he can rebound and go but he can move laterally so well and at times you can still see that he has that raw talent and simple instincts that allow him to be effective. In time when he spends quality sessions training and just working on his craft he has a shot at being an eye popping combo guard. He can score from all over the floor and he is long and lanky, give this kid some time and Ohio sure knows how to shape those young prospects in to men.
Looking for a kid with a strap, well this kid out of North Carolina might be one of those gems that can shoot. His ability to knock them down off the bounce is impressive which in turn makes the catch and shoot one s a lot easier. You can tell he ha sbeen putting in footwork in spots because he will go full speed, stop on a dime and know exactly hoe to pivot and turn and showcase that smooth fade-away jumper. He cam attack the rim as well which keeps everyone honest, this kid has some upside out in North Carolina.
