Multiple high school events will be taking place in the month of June including the IBCA Top 100 workout, the Charlie Hughes Showcase, plus multiple summer leagues. Prep Hoops Indiana will be out in full force all month watching multiple high schools prospects across the board. Let’s go ahead and take a look at Part 2 of five players from the 2025 class that are on my watch list for the month of June.
Couto is arguably the most pure lead guard we have in the in-state class of 2024. Standing at 5-foot-11, Couto’s on-ball skills are excellent and he has become a proven playmaker for his teammates. As for himself, he is a great shooter from deep and just an all-around scoring threat. Carmel is going to look much different than it has in the past few years with the elite talent not available like the Greyhounds are used to so Couto could be a guy to step up for them. He will likely be the smartest player on the floor for Carmel moving forward. Watch and see how big of role Couto has starting in June.
The Fort Wayne Wayne shooting guard is starting to prove that he is one of the top two guards we have in the state of Indiana. Barnes is one of the more explosive athletes in Indiana’s class of 2025 and has been scoring at a high-level for Indy Heat 2025 – Red all spring. He gets to the rim very easily with his high athletic ability, can score from the wing, and can be lock down on the defensive end. Barnes is projected to be one of the biggest pieces for Fort Wayne Wayne this upcoming as they have aspirations of winning a state championship. Barnes should start sniffing D1 offers sooner than later.
Highlights
As previously mentioned in this series, Cathedral has many holes to feel and when it comes to the wing, Koehler is the guy to step in and fill that void. The 6-foot-7 lefty has already started off the month of June strong with his play during the first week of the Pacers Athletic Center June League. He has the ability to be lights out shooting off the catch on the perimeter and it looks as though his passing ability is going to be a underrated part of his overall game. He also has some of the highest IQ you will see out of a wing this season. He is going to be a breakout player in the month of June.
When you think of breakout players in the 2025 in-state class, Kellen Pickett Kellen Pickett 6'9" | PF Blackhawk Christian | 2025 State #108 Nation IN is at the top of that list. Coming off leading Fort Wayne Blackhawk to winning the 2A State Championship, Pickett is also coming off a very good spring with Indy Heat 2025 averaging 8.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 0.7 apg. The 6-foot-8 power forward is one of the better rebounders we have in the state and can stretch the floor on the offensive end as well. As a defensive player, he can guard both the wing and post very well. He got his first offer from UCF and a big June should get him even more at that level.
Another state champion (3A) listed here, Raasch is one of the more physical centers we have in the state plus he plays with a fantastic motor. Raasch is a near walking double-double and really takes pride as a rebounder and someone that can score through contact around the paint. As 6-foot-7, his mobility is real solid and is proving to be a legit rim protector on the defensive end. Already has schools with great interest in him and with an expanded role next season for NorthWood, more offers and interest will be on the way. Raasch is one of my top centers to watch this month.
