This league hosted by back-to-back 1A Champions Green Valley Christian at their brand new, state of the art facility, provides a terrific opportunity to evaluate several talented small school performers. Here’s a look at my first impressions.
Santilli is a strong scrappy pit bull type PG. He attacked the basket hard, and despite standing just 5’7 he managed to get a bunch of steals against big guys who brought the ball down.
May be a cannidate for my All Irrational Confidence team. He is a deligent slasher, that drove hard to the rack and finished. He even showed a few nifty COD’s on his forrays to the rim.
The Summer League is an excellent opportunity for unranked players to earn a spot in the rankings, Lyman may have done just that. The class of 2025 forward is a scorer, that is capable of getting to his spot and knocking down jumpers. He did a little bit of everything for his team, including handling, rebounding and playmaking.
Schnitzler made an impression on me with his activity and energy. He was all over the court on the defensive end, jumping passing lanes, and getting steals. The active forward was able to turn defense into offense, converting steals into layups.
For 3A players looking to compete against Walker this year, they better bring their hard hat. A big physical bruising, athletic forward, Walker was the best Glass Cleaner I saw on the day. He used, timing, agility and brute strength to rip down boards at an exponential rate.
JFG has a long frame, to go with a suprisingly nice outside touch. He competed hard, grabbing rebounds for his squad, and contributed on the offensive end, by knocking down a few threes in the game I saw.
