<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Hoops Grit Region Memorial Classic was another competitive event with teams from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Memorial Classic was hosted at Fieldhouse USA in Polaris, Ohio, and Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio. All our coverage was from Westland High School.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2025 Stock Risers ~ Wings/Forwards</strong> (seen at Westland High School)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wing/Forward - Shemar Woodson | 6'3” | MW Bulls - Black | Belleville (Michigan)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Woodson is an athletic forward that is a consistent matchup problem. His length around the paint gives him an advantage at both ends of the court. His activity around the rim gave him easy putback layups. The MW Bulls squad had several players to highlight this weekend. Woodson is definitely an upcoming prospect to keep tabs on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wing/Forward - Raymon Peeples | 6'4” | Michigan Shockers | Edsel Ford (Michigan)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Peeples has tons of athleticism and was tabbed as one of our top performers on Saturday. He is a springy and active wing that flashes on the defensive end. Consistency is key with Peeples, when he is locked in, he is a menace on both ends of the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wing/Forward - Julian Freeman | 6'5” | GrassRoots Elite 2025 | Lutheran West (Ohio)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Freeman is an athletic, multi-faceted wing that is above average in just about every category. Freeman was impressive in the half court by his interior passing and bounce off the floor. He is a great decision maker in transition by making passes on time and on target. He raises the play of his teammates and his unselfish approach is contagious. Although GrassRoots Elite only played one game at Westland, they were worth the price of admission. Several top notch players!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wing/Forward/Center- Conner Yeagar | 6'4” | Midwest Basketball Club Southwest 2025 Creamer | Clermont Northeastern (Ohio)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Although cumulative stats from events are hard to come by, I'd argue that Yeagar unofficially led the entire 16U division in rebounds. He does a great job of playing around the ball for deflections and block shots without fouling… which ultimately puts him in a better position to grab rebounds. Offensively, he is developing into stretch 4 which is working to mix in the outside shot with the drive. Without the ball, Yeagar has a great feel for the flow of the half-court by constantly slashing to open spaces on the court. This puts him in the position for easy dump-off passes or a better offensive rebounding position.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Guard/Wing/Foward - Isaac Brown | 6'4” | Midwest Basketball Club Southwest 2025 Creamer | Cooper (Kentucky)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brown has the true mentality of a scorer. He doesn't let the previous attempt sway his next move. He has the confidence that he can knock down a shot from anywhere on the court regardless of its difficulty.
