The Dixie Flyers
Wow what an early showing. This team could compete with anyone in the state. They have some players that have been stepping up but they have a trio right now that just puts a lot of pressure on you. Kyle Lemke Kyle Lemke 6'9" | C Dixie | 2024 State UT is dominating in the post and the way they can run sets to him on the block that allows him to get great touches and high percentage shots is important because it opens up shots for other players. John Southwick John Southwick 6'3" | SG Utah Prep | 2025 State #234 Nation UT is a killer out there right now with his shooting ability. Defense is a big plus as well as he ca defend any guard in the state. The addition of Logan Weidauer Logan Weidauer 6'5" | SF Dixie | 2024 State UT is big time as he was going to be one of the best 6A players in Region 2 next year but now he is at Dixie and he fits in very well. This quickly makes Dixie the team to beat.
Corner Canyon Chargers
This team might be deeper than some teams in the past, especially with a few new additions that have been added to the squad. Brody has been solid and he is doing everything from shooting, to posting to even bringing the ball up the floor. Taylor Feroah Taylor Feroah 6'7" | SG Corner Canyon | 2024 State UT has been solid as he is looking for more shots now that they are more readily available. You have a sharp shooter in Noah Bendinger Noah Bendinger 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2025 State UT coming off the bench providing more shooting to a team that could use the floor being more spread for other players to do work. A lot of other pieces that will fall into place.
Lehi Pioneers
This team is tough. They can do so much on both ends of the ball as they have players that like to get after it like Easton Hawkins Easton Hawkins 6'4" | CG Lehi | 2025 State UT , Bryson Bromley Bryson Bromley 5'10" | PG Lehi | 2024 State UT and Cooper Lewis Cooper Lewis 6'1" | PG Lehi | 2024 State UT . Grayson Brousseau Grayson Brousseau 6'6" | PF Lehi | 2024 State UT holds it down in the paint and with the bigs. They run a 4 out 1 in series that allows everyone to get quality touches out on the perimeter and on cuts and dives. This team will be a new program in 6A but they will be able to hang with a lot of teams because they can slow it down or speed it up. They beat a solid Owyhee, ID team that came down to the last shot. Would love to see this rematch during the season.
Overview
On paper it looks like there is one clear favorite in 5A with Alta being as good as they are but there are a few teams that can play with them. Timpview is playing well here in the GWC. Springville is adding a new player here shortly and they could be in the mix, we’ve seen some good things from them in the past few days. Olympus isn’t here but they play winning basketball.
In 6A it might be a battle between Corner Canyon and American Fork. Do not sleep on Layton and Lone Peak they have pieces that will allow them to compete.
4A has a solid cottonwood but Dixie has a level that might separate them from everyone. Look out for Ridgeline and Orem.
