Today, we will be continuing my “Bluegrass State Standouts” series as we break down a new position. After evaluating some of the top shooting guards in the state, it’s time to explore some of the best rising combo guard prospects. Without any further ado, here’s my list of the top 2025 combo guards in Kentucky to watch for next season.
At the top of my list of standouts is Elijah Clinton Elijah Clinton 6'6" | CG Western | 2025 FL , a 6-foot-6 combo guard at Western High School. Clinton was one of the most explosive weapons on the Warriors’ roster during his sophomore stint of high school basketball last year. In 28 contests, Clinton was the third-best scoring machine and one of the top rebounders on the team, picking up a grand total of 275 points and 113 rebounds, averaging 9.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. The rising junior out of Louisville, KY. additionally shot 40.8% (97-238) from the field, 31.6% (31-98) from beyond the arc and 78.1% (50-64) from the free throw line. In addition to excellent size, speed and versatility on both sides of the floor, Clinton contributes impressive passing and shooting, proving that he’s more than capable of driving to the rim or sinking the outside shot.
In second place on my list is Cooper Davenport Cooper Davenport 5'11" | CG Henderson County | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-1 combo guard at Henderson County High School. Davenport was a huge difference maker on the court for the Colonels during his sophomore season of high school basketball last year. In 31 games, Davenport was the second-best scoring machine on the roster, recording a total of 380 points and 54 rebounds, averaging 12.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. The rising junior out of Henderson, KY. additionally shot 39.2% (114-291) from field goal range, 34.8% (69-198) from three-point range and 83.0% (83-100) from the free throw line. In addition to excellent size, speed and toughness on both sides of the court, Davenport impresses me with his well-rounded playstyle and effort to contribute to his team. Davenport showcased solid passing, shooting, and the ability to overwhelm defenders with his offensive consistency.
Finishing at number three on my list of standouts is Nick Osborne Nick Osborne 6'2" | CG Bethlehem | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-2 combo guard at Bethlehem High School. Osborne made his presence known on both sides of the floor for the Eagles during his sophomore stint of high school basketball last year. In 31 contests, Osborne was the second-best scorer and one of the more consistent rebounders on the team, picking up a total of 445 points and 113 rebounds, averaging 14.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. The rising junior out of Bardstown, KY. additionally shot 49.0% (165-337) from the field, 34.9% (30-86) from the three-point line and 69.7% (85-122) from the free throw line. In addition to solid size and speed on both sides, what impresses me about Osborne is his versatility and his ability to both find outside shots and contribute offensively in the paint.

Claiming the fourth place spot on my list of top standouts is Colton Rawlings Colton Rawlings 6'3" | CG South Laurel | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-2 combo guard at North Laurel High School. Rawlings was a huge difference maker on both sides of the floor for the Jaguars during his sophomore stint of high school basketball last year. In 31 games, Rawlings made significant scoring contributions, recording a grand total of 203 points and 62 rebounds, averaging 6.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. The rising junior out of London, KY. additionally shot 39.6% (67-169) from the field, 35.2% (44-125) from three-point range and 83.3% (25-30) from the free throw line. In addition to impressive size, speed and versatility on both sides of the floor, Rawlings impresses me with his team-centered playstyle, consistent passing, smart shooting and ability to contribute to the boards both on the perimeter and underneath the basket.

In the number five spot on my list is Andre Smith Andre Smith 6'0" | CG John Hardin | 2025 CA-N , a 6-foot-0 combo guard at John Hardin High School. Smith was explosive on both sides of the court for the Bulldogs during his sophomore season of high school basketball last year. In 27 games, Smith was the second-best scoring machine and the third-best rebounder on the roster, picking up a total of 291 points and 106 rebounds, averaging 10.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. The rising junior out of Elizabethtown, KY. additionally shot 32.6% (90-276) from field goal range, 28.6% (26-91) from beyond the arc and 69.1% (85-123) from the free throw line. In addition to excellent size, speed and versatility on both sides, Smith impresses me with his solid ball control, smart passing and ability to contribute accuracy anywhere on the court, including behind the three-point line.
