Luke Hester (Twin Rivers): A 6’2″ forward who had an impressive day with his resourceful offensive game around the basket. He had good footwork and nice moves in the post and he could score with either hand. He had some slick drives along the baseline, which resulted in layups. He operates well from the high post and he could hit the 15 footer and also deliver the pass to the open shooter.
******
Cash Pasley (Winona): A 6’0″ guard who plays with a high rate of activity. He was always moving and cutting without the ball for open layups. He will get the rebound and take off on a coast to coast drive for a bucket. He attacks the basket well and scores in traffic.
******
Cole Trantham (Alton): A thick-bodied 6’0″ guard who was one of the more impressive 3-point shooters that I watched during the day. He was launching them from well beyond the 3-point line and touching nothing but net. He can also attack the close out and get all the way to the basket for a layup.
******
Jimmy Marler (Greenville): A 6’1″ guard who was really dialing up from long distance with his high-arching shot. He moved well without the basketball and did a nice job of coming off screens ready to shoot it with a quick release.
******
Elijah Dollins (Neelyville): A 6’3″ forward who plays a blue collar game inside that is very effective. He is a physical player who establishes good position in the post and will score on the drop stop. He rebounds the ball well and he stepped over and took a number of charges during the day.
******
Sam Shaw (South Iron): A 6’2″ forward who did a very effective job inside as he helped the Panthers to a 3-0 record. He is undersized in the post, but he used good positioning to score around the basket and get his share of offensive rebounds.
