In this weekly article, we are going to look at the prospects doing well in camps across the country. Meanwhile, we are also going to look at the players that are on college teams radars. Sit back and let’s get caught up on all of the recruiting headlines making recruiting news in the state of Arkansas.
Layne Taylor Layne Taylor 5'11" | PG Farmington | 2024 State AR -Point Guard-Farmington-2024
The Farmington point guard has put his passing and ability to drain the three from deep on display recently. Taylor is a member of the club team AAO Flight and they opened plenty of eyes in Kansas City recently. He is a guard that drives the lane well and absorbs the contact all the while finishing the shot. Taylor has earned a scholarship offer from Central Arkansas and I expect him to continue to light up opposing defenses with his deep ball and passing ability. Keep an eye out for Taylor, he is a guard that can play at the next level and earn big minutes doing so.
Dallas Thomas Dallas Thomas 6'8" | SF Little Rock Parkview | 2024 State AR -Small Forward-Little Rock Parkview-2024
It is rare when you come across the ball handling ability that this 6’9” prospect has. Thomas handles the ball like a guard. However, he is a forward that can take the ball to the basket with ease. He is a prospect that can step outside and drain the three as well. Thomas is a recruiting priority for plenty of powerhouse programs. Recently, Thomas was able to make an official visit to the Clemson Tigers. Thomas would give Clemson a versatile player that could the guard or forward spot with ease. He is a prospect to keep an eye on as the recruiting period heats up.
J.J. Andrews-Scoring Guard-Little Rock Christian-2026
One of the most explosive players in the class of 2026. Andrews drives the ball to the basket and finishes with authority every time he drives the lane. He passes the ball well and has shown that he is not afraid to mix it up and rebound the basketball. Over the past few days, Auburn, Creighton, and Memphis have expressed interest in Andrews. Meanwhile, Andrews already holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Missouri, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Ole Miss. The Little Rock Christian guard is going to be an interesting player to watch over the next few seasons.
Annor Boateng Annor Boateng 6'5" | SF Little Rock Central | 2024 State AR -Small Forward-Little Rock Central-2024
Annor Boateng Annor Boateng 6'5" | SF Little Rock Central | 2024 State AR had the opportunity recently to take part in the Adidas Eurocamp. It should come as no surprise to anyone in Arkansas that Boateng performed extremely well. He averaged 11.3 points per game and lit it up from outside the arc to the tune of 46.2% from deep. Boateng was unselfish with the basketball dishing out assists and rebounding the ball well. With plenty of power five programs wanting Boateng’s services it will be interesting to see where the talented forward lands.
Terrion Burgess Terrion Burgess 6'9" | SF Benton | 2025 State #42 Nation AR -Combo Guard-Benton-2025
Burgess is another versatile guard that uses his 6’9” frame extremely well. He is impressive at driving the lane and finishing. He has the range to hit from the free throw line and out. Burgess opened plenty of eyes at the Adidas Eurocamp recently. The soft touch on his outside shots were impressive and he is willing to battle inside. Burgess can do the dirty work inside as well as distribute the basketball. He is going to be a major target for teams over the next few months. He is a player to watch out for this season.
