However, in most years the talent is well represented in both sports. What we at Prep Sports are going to do is shine the spotlight on talented prospects that deserve it in both sports. So, without further ado here are some basketball prospects to watch out for this upcoming season.
Annor Boateng Annor Boateng 6'5" | SF Little Rock Central | 2024 State AR -Small Forward-Little Rock Central-6’5” 205-Pounds-2024
The Little Rock area does an excellent job of producing talented basketball players and it has been that way for three plus decades. Boateng is an athletic forward that has no trouble taking it to the rim. Once he gets his inside game going, Boateng does not seem to have a problem stepping outside and draining the three. An area of his game that should not be overlooked is just how tenacious a defender he is. He can force plenty of mistakes for opposing players and does not seem to tire at all. Boateng is a prospect that the powerhouse programs are competing for intensely. One of the top players in the class of 2024 from the state of Arkansas.

Dallas Thomas Dallas Thomas 6'8" | SF Little Rock Parkview | 2024 State AR is an athletic forward that does well in the paint. He has the athletic ability to crash the board and put back his own miss. Meanwhile, he shoots the ball from anywhere on the court. He has impressive ability as a passer and does an excellent job of finding his teammates on the break. Thomas has the ball handling skills off a guard, and he is not a forward that you have to worry about getting sloppy with the basketball. Thomas is going to continue to be a major recruiting target for powerhouse programs across the country.

Landren Blocker Landren Blocker 6'4" | SG Little Rock Christian Academy | 2024 State #259 Nation AR is one of the most intriguing prospects in the class of 2024. He has tremendous athleticism and has no trouble getting above the rim. Blocker is a defender that will pester the fire out of opposing players. He has the talent on the defensive side of the ball to shut opposing players down. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball, Blocker is a player that will get hot and torch you from all areas on the court. He is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season!
Layne Taylor Layne Taylor 5'11" | PG Farmington | 2024 State AR -Guard-Farmington-5’11” 175-Pounds-2024
Layne Taylor Layne Taylor 5'11" | PG Farmington | 2024 State AR is a student of the game, and it shows up on the hardwood. He runs the point for the Farmington Cardinals and does so in impressive fashion. Taylor is a prospect that seems to know where everyone is on the court. He penetrates well and does a great job of finding the open man. Taylor has a smooth shot and can hit outside or drive the lane and hit from inside. Taylor is a prospect that may perhaps be flying under the radar. However, he is going to make a quality player in the college ranks soon.
Caden Miller Caden Miller 6'9" | PF Bentonville (AZ) | 2024 #219 Nation AZ -Power Forward-Bentonville-6’8” 190-Pounds-2024
The Bentonville forward is a walking double-double. He operates extremely well in the low post. He can step back and shoot from 18 feet out and do so on a consistent basis. Miller does a great job in battling for boards. He is a prospect that does not like to be outworked and will make life tough on the opposing offense. Miller has a knack for blocking and altering the shots of the opponent. He has the potential to see plenty of playing time at the next level. Folks should expect a strong senior season from Miller this upcoming season.
