Continue ReadingSmith flashed in parts of both games I watched. I like his competitiveness as he mixed it up for lose balls, even coming up with a big chase down block. His offensive skill was impressive as he knocked down a couple of threes, overall the guard raised enough eyebrows to be a potential new rankings addition.
I expect Boulder City to have one of the best backcourts in the state next year. With sharpshooting guard Roman Rose Roman Rose 6’2″ | SG Boulder City | 2024 State NV , playing alongside the Dime dropping PG Wright, the Eagles are going to have a lot of firepower. The PG displayed a solid handle, and made several slick pocket passes, to set up teammates. Showing quality point guard play throughout the day.
Highlights
Roston did what I thought he would do, finish in transition. He was active, getting out ahead of the break, and quick enough to get a couple steals, turning defense into offense.
Brigance was one of the biggest eye openers at the event. The 2025 guard was an active player and he played with great physicality. Time and time again, he didn’t just finish through contact, he delivered the blows on his way to the rim. He showed a nice outside stroke, and was all over the court during the game I saw.
Villanueva was a nice find. The jitterbug PG did a terrific job playing both sides of the ball. He showed quick hands, pickpocketing several players in the open floor. His played with good moxie and offensive skill, finishing several runners and floaters on drives to the rim.
Browdy Peterson
Browdy Peterson
Peterson has a solid frame and a good basketball IQ. He made some nice touch passes in the game I saw, setting up teammates. His best skill that I witnessed on the day was his shooting, as the sniper showed a quick release along with a propensity to bang home threes. He was one of the best shooter I saw on the day.
Espino’s speed was what first caught my attention, as he was one of the quickest players with the ball in his hands that I saw. Like a lot of players on HBA he was gritty, coming away with several 50/50 balls. He was able to create some nice opportunities for teammates, getting into the paint and dropping dimes.
