We will take a look at the rankings by position over the next few days. Here’s a look at part one of the shooting guards and small forwards in the sophomore class.
25) Jameer Reynolds Jameer Reynolds 6'5" | SF Carlisle | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SF | Carlisle (#63 Overall)
Carlisle had a resurrecting season going to the VISAA D4 semifinals, and will return many of their top players including Reynolds who had a great season for them. He was their most athletic player and played and guarded multiple positions throughout the season, he’s a big time rebounder and finisher who plays with a good motor and he still has a lot of room to continue to improve moving forward.
24) Alex Etheridge Alex Etheridge 6'3" | SG Kellam | 2025 State VA | 6’2” SG | Kellam (#62 Overall)
Etheridge was one of the top young wings in the 757 this year, and with Kellam’s top scorers graduating he should be one of the top scoring wings in the area over the next few years. The 6’2” wing is a knock down shooter from deep who can make shots on the move and has good range, he can attack closeouts and put it on the deck to get to spots and he makes plays defensively as well.
23) Bronson Ledduc-Mattox | 6’2” SG | Carlisle (#61 Overall)
Ledduc-Mattox is another talented young player for Carlisle who had a big season, as the high motor guard was very productive on their run to the state semifinals. The 6’2” wing has long arms and is a good athlete who attacks downhill aggressively and finishes well through contact, he can make shots from deep and in the midrange and he does all the little things to make his team better too.
22) Jayvion Green Jayvion Green 6'4" | SF Maury | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SF | Maury (#60 Overall)
Green has a lot of potential and could easily move up this list as he continues to improve and get more polished, as he has prototypical size and good athleticism as well. At 6’4” he has a strong frame already and is able to rebound and finish in the paint, he’s a solid shooter who continues to get more consistent with time and he does the little things and dirty work like fight for loose balls and defend as well.
21) Adlan Elamin Adlan Elamin 6'8" | SF Paul VI | 2025 State #266 Nation VA | 6’4” SF | Bishop O’Connell (#58 Overall)
Elamin is another high upside player who could move up this list as he continues to improve, and he’s part of a young O’Connell team that will be able to compete for a WCAC title this year. At 6’4” he has long arms and may still be growing, he has a good base skillset that includes the ability to make shots and put it on the deck in isolation and he has a lot of upside defensively to guard multiple positions.
20) Aiden Caulker Aiden Caulker 6'4" | SG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SG | Bishop O’Connell (#55 Overall)
Caulker is another part of that talented young O’Connell team, and he showed the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor already. At 6’4” he has the ability to play on or off the ball and touches the paint effortlessly where he can finish or make plays for others, he’s a very good on ball defender who moves his feet and has quick hands and he can knock down shots off the catch too.
19) Landon Harvey Landon Harvey 6'4" | SG Battlefield | 2025 State VA | 6’4” SG | Battlefield (#54 Overall)
Harvey is one of the best young wings in all of NOVA public schools, and coming off of a strong sophomore season he’s a big part of a VA Elite team that is sitting at 8-0 on the UA Rise Circuit. The 6’4” lefty is a top notch shooter who lets it fly with confidence and has good range and a quick release, he makes good decisions in transition and when he gets downhill and he’s an athletic and strong finisher in the paint.
18) Frank Macnelly Jr. | 6’4” SF | Collegiate (#53 Overall)
Macnelly is one of a number of talented young players for this Collegiate School team, as the 6’4” wing has already made a name for himself with his ability to score the ball. He attacks the paint hard off the bounce and he can rise up and knock down the short and midrange jumper even when closely contested, he’s a knock down shooter from deep with good range and he’s a gritty all-out defender who makes plays and wins 50-50 balls.
17) Trey Fitch Trey Fitch 6'5" | SG Fairfax Christian | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SG | Rock Ridge (#51 Overall)
Fitch is following right in the footsteps of his brother Alex who was a very good player for Rock Ridge when they first opened a few years ago, and now there’s another one making a big impact in Loudoun County. The 6’4” Fitch has good size on the wing with long arms and a frame that should fill out nicely, he shoots the cover off the ball from deep even with little to no space and he plays with a good motor and toughness as well.
16) Mykell Harvey Mykell Harvey 6'2" | SF Northside | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SF | Northside (#50 Overall)
Harvey was a big part of Northside’s run to the state championship, as the sophomore was one of a number of breakout players for them and has a lot of upside moving forward. The 6’3” wing is a natural athlete who gets up and down in transition and can finish at and above the rim, he moves his feet well defensively and challenges shots and he does the little things like rebound and fight for loose balls too.
