The amount of high-end talent found deep throughout speaks to why the area is considered a hotbed in recruiting conversations. Let’s dive into the forwards who appeared in the top 10.
Cameron Ward Cameron Ward 6'6" | SF Largo | 2025 State #30 Nation MD | Largo/ Team Durant
Ranking: No. 1
For the local crowd, it’s no surprise to see Ward’s rise in the national rankings. His size, skill and signs of growth playing on the ball all equate into a prospect who will make a run at a five-star status and one of the more coveted prospects at his position. He’s the engine that makes everything go on both ends for Largo during the high school season and so far this spring has become the clear primary option for a very talented Team Durant 16’s crew. On top of his stat-stuffing ability, Ward shows intangibles within his leadership and communication that separate himself from the pack. The 6’6 forward holds offers from the likes of Maryland, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgetown, West Virginia, Syracuse and VCU among others.
Eric Reibe Eric Reibe 7'0" | C Bullis | 2025 State #82 Nation MD | Bullis/New World
Ranking: No. 6
Reibe is the prospect who has caught the most momentum in the last two months as he’s been showered with power five offers that won’t stop anytime soon. He’s a seven-foot lefty who moves very fluidly for his size. Once you get over the surprise with his movement and his coordination, Reibe rattles off jumpers with regularity from the mid-range and has even shown strong signs of a potential three-point shot that will surface more next winter with Bullis. His European style of play comes with sound footwork on the block, ability to read defenses within the flow of an offense and good effort on both ends of the floor acting as an anchor. Reibe holds 11 offers in total. Maryland, Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Providence, Illinois, Georgetown and Virginia Tech are some of the programs involved.
Marcus Jackson Marcus Jackson 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2025 State #161 Nation VA | Edmondson-Westside/ Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 7
While Reibe has gained a ton of high major attention, Jackson isn’t far behind for being the prospect who has started off the spring with a bang. Also a lefty, Jackson stands 6-foot-8 with electric athleticism that he uses while attempting to rip the rim off on any dunk attempt he gets. When you watch Jackson at first, you assume he’s just a catch-and-dunk type of big, but he is certainly capable of knocking with face-up jumpers from 15 feet and has proven himself as an efficient shooter from the charity stripe. There are endless layers to Jackson’s game yet to be unlocked, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him rise a few spots on this list a calendar year from now. Jackson has received offers from Illinois and Georgetown.
Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | Archbishop Spalding/ Team Melo
Ranking: No. 8
Washington can be plugged into almost any team and find a way to produce. He’s one of those players who finds a way to contribute to multiple box score categories and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to do so. The 6’5 sophomore, who is a coveted quarterback prospect, is a versatile defender who can guard the 3-5 positions and bring a substantial rebounding presence. Offensively, he makes his impact as an active off-ball mover, particularly as a screener where he can be a threat as a roller or a catch-and-rip guy from the top of the key. He’s a good decision maker off the bounce for a forward and uses his ability to anticipate rotating defenses before delivering assists off the bounce on target.
