The event featured teams from all over the east coast and was chock full of talent for all levels, with college coaches from all over in attendance.
Here’s a look at part one of some of the many standouts from the NY teams in attendance.
Darius Adams | 6’5” WG | PSA Cardinals 16U
Adams was perhaps the best long term prospect at the event, as the 6’5” 2025 wing has huge upside moving forward as he continues to get stronger and develop. He has a full bag as he can play on or off the ball, makes shots from all over and has the ability to make difficult shots look very easy when he gets it going. He’s an effortless shooter with good form and range from deep, he can handle and touches the paint where he can finish through traffic and gets to the line often and he is unselfish and can make plays for others as well.
Kayden Mingo Kayden Mingo 6'1" | CG Long Island Lutheran | 2025 State #131 Nation NY | 6’2” PG | PSA Cardinals 16U
If Adams is the best prospect on this talented PSA team, Mingo may have been the most dynamic at the event as he made a ridiculous number of plays for himself and others. He’s lightning quick off the bounce with the ability to change speeds and directions on a dime, and that makes him very tough to deal with in isolation and pick-and-roll situations. When he gets downhill he can score it both in traffic and with the pull-up, he gets where he wants and scores it well from all over the court and he’s a playmaker both with the ball in his hands and on the defensive end too.
Roddy Jones Roddy Jones 6'1" | SG St John the Baptist | 2023 NY | 5’11” CG | Crown Basketball 17U
Jones may be a little short for his position and role, but there’s no doubt that he flat out produces every time I’ve seen him on the floor. The 5’11” combo is a big time shooter who has effortless range and a lot of confidence, as he’ll shoot it every time he’s open and more often than not the ball is going in. He’s strong and fearless on both ends of the floor, and he often steps up against the best of the best when his team needs him to.
Seydou Traore | 6’7” F | NY Lightning 17U ’23
Traore was one of the best available 2023 prospects in attendance, and he picked up an offer from Manhattan with his play at the event. The 6’7” forward is a Swiss-army knife that produces across the board and is a load to deal with when he gets it going. He’s a strong and physical presence in the paint who can clear out space and finish at the rim, he can iso guys on the perimeter and create his own shot off the bounce and his ability to score it from all three levels while also owning the glass on both ends makes him extremely productive.
Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Our Savior Lutheran | 2023 NY | 6’4” WG | NY Lightning 17U
Williams is another impressive player for this Lightning team, as he has prototypical size on the wing and does a little bit of everything for his team. He plays with a lot of energy and passion on both ends, competing and making plays that have a positive impact for his team. He shoots the ball well from deep and makes plays for others, he defends and is very good in the press and he fights for rebounds and 50-50 balls too.
